We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Hobbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrew, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I always advocate to take risks! I’ve personally always done them to a smaller scale, but within the last 3 years I’ve somehow managed to double down when taking risks. I think without taking risks you could end up thinking “what if I did that” rather than “man I’m glad I did or didn’t do that.” You also run the possibility of having a stagnant life, I would hate to just plateau and sit idle and not have any type of growth in my life. I have a fear of living in regret I don’t want to leave any stone unturned, however my love for pushing the envelope has landed me big and has landed me on ass, just know it takes 100 loses for one win. Take everything as a lesson, win or loss! If it’s relationships not having an abundance mentality means you’re telling yourself you can’t do any better. If it’s your profession or a new one, your subconsciously telling yourself you can’t learn something new in order to get to the next higher step. Take the risk to reap the higher reward.

Two of my favorite quotes are from Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein.
I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work – Edison
We cannot solve our problems With the same thinking we used when we created them – Einstein

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Business is one of the hardest aspects in life, if your are not passionate about your work you may not succeed or enjoy succeeding! Not to rehash on risk but sometimes you have to gamble with business, we do not know everything and sometimes it’s okay to guess. Nothing is easy if it was everyone would do it!

What sets me apart from others and brands me as an individual is my overall ability to jump! I constantly jump in and out of things and pursue my next endeavor, I jump off the deep end while looking the risk in the eye and embrace the challenges that the discomfort zone has prepared  me for.
I am extremely happy to look back on what I’ve done, but I look forward at what I plan to do. I’m only moderately satisfied with the big picture of my achievements, which  some might say is negative thing to do but nonetheless I use it as motivation when Envisioning my future life !

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Favorite spots in the city!!
Oh that’s a tough one, it does happen to be my specialty, I may or may not be known as the guy who always has spontaneity up his sleeve! I tend to pack a lot of activities into one day or over the weekend, by the time you leave you feel like it’s been a week already! Just as an example I traveled up and down the west coast last month and one of my main visits was playing around in the SoCal area. I started the week by jogging 15 miles through Malibu-Santa Monica-Venice beach in the morning then grabbed coffee and a smoothie before meeting some friends in San Diego, once I arrived in San Diego we took a tour of the USS Midway retired naval ship, afterwards we walked the beach and then grabbed dinner at one the best restaurants in San Diego in my opinion! Go check out Saltwater steak and Seafood! The next day we went back to Malibu went shopping and then hung out at the Van Nuys Airport and relaxed before going out to the Malibu pier for dinner!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was lucky enough to have been reached out to join the Shoutout series so first of all thank you for that!

Now I don’t want to sound selfish so I will mention my shoutouts, support and gratitude at the end but what I want to start with is by saying give yourself the shout out! This is a mindset, it cannot bought, success is a virtue that you have to keep practicing everyday. I am big on risk, I take daily risks in my personal life. Risk leads to discomfort and that puts you in a discomfort zone that you eventually get comfortable being in and you are no longer scared of new opportunities, you will build a little more confidence and control in your life by doing so. Stay disciplined and you will develop a thirst for new knowledge! You will develop a thirst for new goals! Act on them! I advise you to do one new thing/goal a week, one big thing/goal every month, and one new Colossal thing a year!

I would like to thank my parents for shaping me as the person I am and aspire to be today ! I would like to thank risk for putting me in situations that allowed me to grow and meet connections I otherwise wouldn’t have.

I would like to thank some of my friends who stood by me and gave their verbal advice and support when physical wasn’t an option. I would like to thank Zach Doty for an astronomical amount of knowledge and leading me to the discovery of audiobooks! I thank all of my failures, in careers, decisions, friendship and personal academics, without you I wouldn’t have learned beyond valuable knowledge.
