Meet Andrea Anderson | Visual artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was a little scared and at the same time very excited to start something new, to offer unique items. I knew there would be obstacles but I had the mentality of giving my best

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I currently dedicate myself to painting on canvas and murals and at the same time I have my craft business.
It makes me very happy to know that I managed to dedicate myself to what I love and share a little of who I am and how I admire my environment.
It has been a little difficult in terms of income because sometimes you are not in the right places for the work to be appreciated, but then I learned to observe and look for the right people and places.
I m still learnig, people taught me that this world needs warmth an harmony, the visual arts show the depth of the world in general and is the conduit in which it can be appreciated.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really like the Pasaje Revolucion and Pasaje Rodriguez in Tijuana to see the stands of regional crafts as interesting performances and then go for a coffee in those rustic cafeterias and have a pleasant chat.
Oh, but we also want to go exploring the surroundings of the city where there are beautiful landscapes with lakes and wildlife, as well as a place that I just met, The Carrizos Dam, ideal for a picnic and painting some of the beautiful views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother is an important part of my development as an artist since she was the one who aroused my interest in arts and crafts, as a child I tried to imitate her way of coloring her sketches. So, mom, thank you very much for helping me discover my gift. Also to my father and friends who taught me a lot about who I am now.
