We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre McCorley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andre, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I think the most important thing I’ve done as a parent is embody my fearlessness, embrace my vulnerability, and double down on my own integrity. As we know children follow by what they see and less on what they are instructed. So I’ve made sure I give my children a solid example to watch and learn from. No matter what life brings I keep going, get knocked down? I get back up. Unfavorable situation? I respect it for the lessons I’m learning and the strength I’m gaining for what I need to proceed. Allowing my children to have an example.of a parent that even my inner child is proud of.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career under my brand To The Top Productions started 12 years ago in 2013. As a way to showcase my artistry as freahly budding recording and performing hip hop artist and as a budding producer. But it has turned forth into a brand that doesn’t stand for a singular definition, its a life style, a slogan, a way of living, a reminder of a destination with no destination, but rather a journey of constant elevation. The journey to get here hasn’t been easy, I work a day job and build my brand during all other house of the day, I’ve lost plenty on this road to the place I am today, including a marriage, friends, family at points in time. But it’s all in God’s hands and in his timing that I prevail the way I do. Once I started walking my faith and not by sight, healed from trauma that was holding me back via therapy and focused my brain on opportunities and growth instead of fear and stagnation, the abundance has poured in, catapulting my journey faster than ever. It taught me that with resilience and persistence, anything is possible!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First thing we would do is go visit the beach. The beach tax in San Diego is so high that we might as well enjoy it. After a day at the beach, we’d slide down the 5 to Chula Vista and go hit tacos El Gordo, that’s a must. Or El Paisa taco shop on 25th and imperial, fire!!! I’d take them to LA BOOM night club and Spith Beach Day Club where my business partner Boss Cohen owns and operatez the establishment, and a place to have a good time whether day or night, in the chula vista area. Wpuldnt be a complete week of fun without atopping at my favorite Korean BBQ spot, Handu BBQ in the convoy district. Good eats at a great price. Most importantly I’d make sure my best friend spent time with my kids and family and just let them know their time is valued and appreciated. Im big on spending quality time, location and activities are secondary.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh man there’s so many people i can think of but at this time, the greatest influence in my life is my cousin, Montereal Smith aka Mac Villian. He has been my mentor in developing my visual side of my multimedia and I couldn’t have my growth behind the camera without him. He doesn’t excellent work with his company Prime Life Productions, his insight and availability tocme for conversation and mentorship has helped push me so much further than I ever could have done on my own, so to him. This shootout is for you, and I thank you!
