We had the good fortune of connecting with Analuisa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Analuisa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks has been crucial to the success of my business. Starting Amoriana Jewelry in itself was a risk. but I’d rather take that risk and fail than to never have tried at all. Even though it is much easier to play it safe, no growth or progress can come from that comfortable space.

When I started my business, I had no idea what I was doing or what my end goal was. There was never a “right time” to start and I truly didn’t know what to expect. What I did know was that I was willing to take the risk of failure in order to find out what could happen if I pursued this business venture and gave it everything I had. I’ve taken several risks along the way but I now see risks as something exciting. Without risks, we would stay stagnant, there would be no growth. In order to grow and achieve goals, you must take those risks.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Amoriana Jewelry was created to provide women with timeless but trendy high-quality gold jewelry that would not irritate their skin. My mission is to make you feel empowered, beautiful, & confident without spending a fortune. Everyone deserves to feel their best and if I can play a part in that, I’ve done my job.

I don’t like to stick to a singular style when it comes to jewelry and this is something that translates over to our pieces at Amoriana. I love edgy & chunky chains but also love dainty, barely there necklaces. I love a statement ring while also loving simple bands. No matter what vibe you’re going for, you can find it with us.

I am most proud of the community that has been built around Amoriana Jewelry. I love interacting with customers and getting to know them and their personalities. I pride myself on customer service and making sure that the customer loves their shopping experience with us. This business would be nothing without their continuous support and I make sure to remind them how special they are to me often.

Building a business from scratch has been the most challenging but rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve learned so much about myself and have experienced the highest highs and lowest lows. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned through all of this is to stop putting so much pressure on myself. The joy and passion was being sucked out of me when I was working around the clock and constantly feeling like I needed to meet the next goal, and the next goal, and the next goal. It was exhausting. I felt like I had to have massive success instantly in order to feel like I was doing it right. I finally took a step away to really analyze everything and realized that it was going to be okay. Taking breaks is necessary. I set boundaries and started treating this as more of a regular job instead of letting it consume my life entirely and from that moment, we have grown consistently. Finding that balance was crucial.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m still pretty new to the San Diego area! I was born and raised in North Orange County and moved down to San Diego at the beginning of 2020 right before the pandemic so I feel like exploring SD just started this year. Here are the things I would recommend:

You can’t come to San Diego without going to the beach so I would definitely make a day out of that. I love driving down the coast from Carlsbad down to La Jolla. I love parking at the gliderport in Torrey Pines and watching everybody fly.

Head down to a Padres game then go to the Coin-Op Game Room in Gaslamp for fun arcade games.

If you’re feeling hungry and want some great vegan sushi, I highly recommend The Ysai in Little Italy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
No matter how wild my dreams are, my mom and dad have always made me feel like I can achieve them. They have encouraged and supported me through everything and I am the luckiest daughter in the world to have them as my parents.

I also have amazing sisters who have helped me along the way. My older sister has always inspired me to go after what I want and my little sister has always been there to listen to me and offer advice.

Lastly, I owe a huge thank you to my husband who has supported me through the hard beginnings and is always there to bring me back down to earth when I have had a stressful day.
