We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Kowalski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My sister and I are both Graphic Designers and we wanted to find a way to help others channel their inner creativity. So we thought it would be a great idea to teach some kind of craft class. After going to my dentist and her seeing a wood sign that I created on my website, she said you should teach our pallet painting class that were trying to sign up for, I said done. I went straight to my sister and told her I know what were teaching, and that is how Bubbly Vibes Pallet Parties all started.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I graduated with a Graphic Design Degree, but also always loved being hands on with crafts and creating different wood projects. After my sister and I did a paint and canvas night, we realized we would never hang our art in our home. With our pallets each person gets the ability to choose their own design and trace it. After that its simply paint in the lines. We even custom make each one of our boards which makes us unique and stand out against everyone else.

After Starting Bubbly Vibes we decided to take a road trip to San Diego to get inspired and to really figure out who and what our brand should look like.

Some of the challenges we faced were at the start of covid, all of our parties were in person parties so we had yet to create individual painting kits. We decided to figure out a way for people to purchase their own customizable kits off of our website and were able to have over 30 person companies have pallet parties over zoom.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego is truly my favorite place to visit hence me moving here! An ideal tour day would start off with some delicious acai bowls at Lean Bean with the best coffee. We would then adventure out to annies Canyon hike to adventure through the canyons. After that we would head over to blacks beach, hike the gorgeous hike down and enjoy some juneshine and snacks on the beach. We would then head over to la jolla to check on our Sea Loins and make sure they are doing ok. 🙂

Then in the evening we will head over to Little Italy and have some dinner and drinks at my favorite spots such as Nolita Hall and Craft and Commerce.

The next morning I would make sure to get up early and head to Saturday mornings Little Italy Famers market and get your name in at Morning Glory to enjoy that amazing breakfast experience. (breakfast pizza is the best)

For a good sunset I would be sure to visit Sunset Cliffs but grab burritos and churros before hand at the Taco stand.

There is just so much fun stuff do!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This company truly wouldn’t of happened without the consistent support from my friends and family. After moving to San Diego this past year, I was able to keep the company growing and thriving with the help of my mom and two friends Casey and Alex. Our company is based in Minnesota but we have the ability to ship all over the U.S. and allow many companies, families, and friends to enjoy painting the kits virtually and together.
