We had the good fortune of connecting with Allie Mosier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is a natural part of life, and something that most of us do at different points in our life. I believe it’s what leads to growth and change, and can orient us on our desired path. With that said, it’s important to take risks when it feels right intuitively or internally. Taking a risk can feel like a natural progression of your life, and that’s how it unfolded for me. I took a risk by leaving my stable corporate job near the end of 2020. Some people may have considered this risky, considering the state of the world (pandemic), and to go along with that, I didn’t have a concrete plan; however, I had an inner knowing that it was my time to go my own way and leave what was familiar to me. About 9 months after leaving my job, and after many signs pointing me in this direction, I decided to formally study Evolutionary Astrology. A year before that, in early 2019, I felt called to learn Reiki, and coincidentally, I came across a local teacher with whom I studied and practiced this energy healing technique.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m an Evolutionary Astrologer and Reiki practitioner. My intention with both of these practices is to help people deepen their awareness of who they are. Both practices are such gentle yet powerful tools for healing, self-exploration, and growth, and this is the foundation of my work. It’s my aim that when people come to me for a reading or session, that they connect to the heart of who they are, and come to a deeper understanding of who they are beyond any limitation they’ve been conditioned by.

To be able to show others their innate gifts, skills, and potential that is so clearly reflected in their natal chart is such an enriching experience for myself and the client, and it’s why I love what I do. I practice Evolutionary Astrology and the foundation of this branch of Astrology is that we all came here to learn certain lessons and evolve into our full potential. The natal chart serves as a map to your evolution and a pathway to living a meaningful and fulfilling life. This branch of Astrology places an emphasis on the South and North nodes of the Moon which represents your karmic path. The South node represents the habits and patterns that you’re here to evolve from that no longer serve you while the North node represents your way forward, and the direction and energy one should strive to integrate in their life. Evolutionary Astrology underscores that nothing is static, that everything ebbs and flows, and that it’s important to consciously ride whatever season of life you’re in. Meaning that if you’re going through a rough patch, it will get better, and if you’re in a time of joy know that you’ll have many more moments like this to come. Evolutionary Astrology empowers you to make conscious decisions and choices that reflect the true you. It mirrors the cycle of life and emphasizes that things have the potential to improve as does every individual.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese energy healing technique that aids in stress management, and promotes mindfulness and deep relaxation. The way that I describe it to people who haven’t experienced a Reiki session is that it’s like an “energetic massage.” It helps in restoring and balancing your energy while being both grounding and uplifting. Because of its relaxing effect on the mind, body and nervous system, it helps to promote your body’s natural healing abilities. On a spiritual level, Reiki can help a person find their center by deepening their connection to their true self. This is the interconnection that I’ve found between Reiki and Astrology. Overall, Reiki helps to enhance a person’s well-being and vitality. It’s such a gentle technique which makes it suitable for anyone who’s looking to improve their emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Highlighting some of my favorite spots in North and South Orange County, coffee is first on the list and I’d take them to Modern Times Coffee in Anaheim. It’s a vintage home turned coffee shop with an eclectic vibe. The decor is reason enough to visit itself. For a beachside stroll along the bluffs, Treasure Island Park in Laguna Beach is a favorite. The water is perfectly blue, and there’s a nice sprinkle of benches to relax and drink up the sun, or have a picnic on the grass with a view. For lunch or dinner, we’d head on over to “The Circle” or Old Towne Orange which is a downtown area lined with new and vintage shops and restaurants. Byblos Cafe is a Mediterranean spot that I love. The thrift shops (DeeLux and The Collection) are a must for some great finds. Chapman Brewery is the spot for crafted beers or Bosscat for cocktails, and if you’re in the mood for dessert, Sweet Art Cafe has some amazing European desserts.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thankfully, I have received support from both family and friends throughout this process. They have shown interest in what I’m doing and have encouraged me along the way. Receiving words of support always feels great especially when you’re doing something for the first time, and trying to work things out as you go along. A book that helped me understand myself on a deeper level, and the one that launched me into my descent of deep diving into studying astrology was The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest (who I’m currently studying under in his program Forrest Center for Evolutionary Astrology). I’ve met some amazing people through my studies and I consider them a part of my support system.
