We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexandra, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a mom of four, a psychotherapist, and a business owner, the most important thing I’ve done for my children is let them see me fully; inclusive to the drive, the exhaustion, the joy, and the determination it takes to build something meaningful. I want them to understand that family and ambition aren’t opposites; they can beautifully coexist when rooted in purpose and love.

My kids see me hold space for clients, lead a business, and still make time for bedtime hugs, sports games/performances, and unhurried conversations. They’ve watched me chase goals with unrelenting grit, but also pause to listen, connect, and be emotionally present. I want them to know that success isn’t just about achievement; it’s about awareness, empathy, and the ability to stay grounded in who you are.

I want them to know that ambition and nurturing can live in the same person; that you can build a life that’s both purpose-driven and love-filled. If they see in me the courage to chase dreams, the discipline to keep going, and the grace to stay grounded in family, then I know I’ve done my job; not just as their mom, but as their first example of what’s possible.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Raising four children and navigating a 17-year marriage while building a career didn’t just shape me; it refined the way I understand human resilience. I know what it feels like to carry responsibilities that never pause, to push through exhaustion, to be the strong one for everyone else while silently wondering, “Who supports me?” That lived experience is the heartbeat of my practice. I don’t just understand pressure; I’ve lived it.

Today, I specialize in EMDR therapy for high achievers, elite athletes, and career creatives; people who are exceptional at performing, producing, and persevering, yet often struggle quietly with the weight of old wounds, self-doubt, and the pressure to be “on” at all times. The individuals who come to me are brilliant, talented, and deeply committed to their goals, yet something inside them feels stuck, heavy, or out of alignment.

What inspires me most is witnessing what happens when that stuckness finally releases; a sharper mind, a regulated nervous system, the return of focus, creativity, confidence, and self-trust. Clients start showing up in their relationships differently, they reconnect with their purpose, they make decisions from clarity instead of fear, and they begin to feel a level of internal freedom they didn’t realize was possible.

What sets my work apart is the depth of transformation I aim for, which is not surface-level or symptom management. I help clients identify the root of their struggles; the patterns they inherited, the stories they’ve internalized, the emotional residue from moments they never fully processed. Together, we rewrite those internal narratives in a way that feels liberating, empowering, and aligned with who they’re becoming, not who they had to be to survive.

My path here wasn’t smooth or easy! Building a business while raising a family required grit, devotion, and a willingness to evolve. There were seasons where I felt stretched thin, unsure, and overwhelmed, but every challenge taught me something I now teach my clients: you don’t have to choose between ambition and well-being, you don’t have to sacrifice your emotional health to succeed, and that you can build a life that honors both ambition and alignment.

That belief is the foundation of my brand. I want the world to know this: therapy isn’t just healing; it’s a catalyst. When one person heals, their whole landscape changes. Their children feel it; their partners feel it; their teams and communities feel it. Healing elevates everything you touch.

I believe individual healing is world healing. When someone feels safe in their body, clear in their purpose, and grounded in their identity, they stop repeating cycles and start creating new legacies. They become more conscious leaders, more present partners, more fulfilled human beings.

If something in this resonates, if a part of you feels seen or even called forward, trust that feeling. When you’re ready to explore what transformation could look like for you, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting San Diego, I’d make sure they got the full experience of sun, surf, and local flavor. We’d start the day with a morning hike at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, taking in the stunning ocean cliffs and trails that make you feel like you’re on top of the world.

Next, we’d head to Pacific Beach for some classic San Diego fun, inclusive to surfing, paddleboarding, or just lounging in the sand. The boardwalk is perfect for people-watching, spontaneous laughs, and maybe a little ice cream to keep it casual.

As the day winds down, we’d drive to Sunset Cliffs to catch one of the most iconic sunsets in the city. It’s the perfect way to wrap up an adventurous day with a little magic, and maybe a photo or two for the memories.

Throughout the week, I’d mix in brunches at local cafés, casual dinners in Little Italy, and strolls through Balboa Park for gardens, museums, and people-watching. From morning hikes to beach afternoons and evening sunsets, it’s a week full of movement, laughter, and all the things that make San Diego feel alive.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to my mentor, Brittani. Her support, guidance, and unwavering belief in me were instrumental in inspiring me to create my own practice. Brittani has a rare gift for seeing potential and encouraging it to flourish, offering motivation when I doubted myself and wisdom when I needed direction. Her mentorship has shaped not only my career but also my approach to serving others, as I was reminded that success is not just about what we achieve, but how we lift others up along the way. I’m endlessly grateful for her presence in my journey and for the example she set of leading with both strength and heart.
