Meet Alejandra Parsons | Licensed Esthetician & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandra Parsons and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alejandra, what do you attribute your success to?
There are many crucial factors that are essential to becoming successful, however the most important to me has been resilience. Success truly comes from the ability to build yourself back up when you have been knocked down and keep going until you reach your goals.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My mother always told me the quote, “If it was easy everyone would be doing it.” When it comes to owning a business it most certainly is not a walk in the park. There are days where it seems like you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel lost or overwhelmed, however there is beauty behind the madness and it is all worth it.
I have faced many hardships in my life and even more recently as a young adult. I have lost a job that was my main source of income, my financial stability took a hit and so did my metal health. I also even lost my father around the same time, it felt like the Universe was punishing me and I felt so lost and disappointed in myself. I knew that all these challenges were to truly test me my perseverance and it was up to me to fight back and keep climbing. I was blessed with the opportunity to go to Esthetician school, which is something I always thought about for years but felt conflicted if I belonged in the beauty industry or in a traditional college setting, and let’s just say becoming an esthetician was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
As a Latina I have a lot of pride in my culture and roots. I enjoy being able to network with with both English and Spanish speaking clients and making them feel comfortable and valued when they book with me. It bring me joy when a client loves the outcome of the service performed on them and they walk out feeling more confident than ever.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So many places to choose from! The beaches are amazing I enjoy Mission and La Jolla. There are a lot of attractions and scenic views. Liberty station is beautiful and is so close to my studio I always recommend visiting when my clients go to see me to take a look around and try out a place there. My newest favorite place for brunch is definitely Breakfast and Bubbles on Park Boulevard. I recently celebrated my birthday there with my friends and let me tell you the atmosphere and food was just amazing, if you are a lover of all things pink, this is the spot! For dinner a great option is Korean BBQ there’s many to chose from off Convoy Street also over in Little Italy the ambiance and night life is amazing with so many food and desert choices of all price points. I would also hope that my friend has a passport because Tijuana has the best tacos and we all know tacos are an essential part to a San Diegan’s diet.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, God for all the blessings I have and will continue to receive. My mother and grandparents for teaching me how to keep working hard regardless of the obstacles in life. My family and friends for their loyalty and support and my fiancé for always being so supportive and uplifting on the days that I am too hard on myself.
