We had the good fortune of connecting with Alanna Singleton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alanna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Back in 2017, I took on the role of Historian/Brand Manager for the Long Beach Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., responsible for curating our chapter’s digital identity. Little did I know, this role would spark a flame within me. Managing social media, designing eye-catching flyers, and even directing photo shoots – I was knee-deep in creativity. At the time, I didn’t fully grasp it, but my spirit resonated with the art of creation, and that marked the birth of my passion.

As I delved into this newfound love, something magical happened – people started noticing. Offers for my design services came pouring in, and guess what? They wanted to pay me for it! Being able to positively impact businesses with my creative talent was a feeling like no other, so of course, I embraced the opportunity.

Then came the game-changer – website design requests. It hit me – I wasn’t just good; I was great at what I did, and I had a solution to a problem many businesses faced. So, with hundreds of hours spent honing my craft, I took the leap in 2020 and birthed my very own web design company.

Why? Because I firmly believed that every business deserved to thrive online. I wanted to be the force that helped them achieve that. It was time to share my skills and passion with the world.

So, here I am, continuing to build, create, and help businesses thrive through captivating web design.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

In the digital world that we’re in today, many service providers and coaches find themselves standing at a crossroad, aware of the need for a website but uncertain of where to begin. That’s why I’m here, to guide businesses towards a clear path of online success and to the powerful digital presence they truly deserve because no one should have to navigate building a website on their own.

I’m a self-made entrepreneur who has built A. Fierce Marketing Co. from the ground up. Without the traditional marketing agency background or a formal degree in marketing, I take pride in my unique journey and envision an exciting future for my business.

As a Certified StoryBrand Guide, I bring a distinctive approach to the table, using beautiful design and a clear messaging strategy to help clients invite their audience into a compelling narrative. The goal is not just a website but a storytelling platform that resonates with the essence of each business.

Looking ahead to 2024, I have plans to launch digital products and incorporate innovative tools, further empowering my clients to reach their business goals. For those feeling the weight of digital uncertainty, A. Fierce Marketing Co. offers a lifeline—a chance to transition from overwhelmed to calm and carefree.

But it doesn’t end there. Below are 3 valuable lessons learned along the way:

Seek Guidance from Those Who’ve Walked the Path: Embrace the wisdom of those who have treaded similar paths, even if it means investing in their knowledge. Learning from others’ mistakes can save time and heartache on the road to success.

Spread the Word: Shout about your passion to everyone who will listen. Even if they don’t need your services now, they might know someone who does. It’s about planting seeds and nurturing relationships that can bloom into opportunities.

Excellence Knows No Size: Whether tackling a small project or assisting a friend, commit to delivering a consistent 5-star experience. Every positive interaction has the potential to transform clients into loyal advocates of your brand.

I am not just a service provider; I am a strategist and partner in your digital journey, crafting stories that resonate and transforming businesses into forces to be reckoned with. Book a consultation today at www.afiercemarketingco.com and let the transformation begin!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Long Beach is home for me so we would definitely spend most of our time there. Any day of the week, you can find a farmer’s market somewhere in the city, so we’d check one out for fresh fruit and vegetables, home baked goods, hummus, dips, empanadas, pupusas, you name it! Everyone loves a good Mexican spot, so Lola’s on 4th Street or Padres would definitely be our next stop for Mexican food and margaritas. We’d hit up Nick’s on 2nd in Belmont Shore for dinner, cocktails and the best butter cake in the city! Open Sesame for Mediterranean, Frosted Cupcakery for cupcakes (if you have a sweet tooth like me) and Tantalum for live music and a little night life.

I’m a huge Lakers fan so I wouldn’t let anyone leave without going to a Lakers game at Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as Staples Center. After the game, we’d end the night at Caña Rum Bar for rum coconuts and cigars (if that’s their thing). Hollywood Bowl is a must for a magical night under the stars and we’d conclude the week at 1010 Wine and Events in Inglewood for Sunday brunch.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my family and friends who encouraged me, supported me, and didn’t tell me I was crazy when I told them that I was starting a business, all of the Instagram and YouTube pages that offered inspiration, my unofficial business coach for the great advice, StoryBrand for taking my business to the next level and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. for giving me the platform and space to discover my talent and passion.
