We had the good fortune of connecting with Addie Vee Ortiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Addie Vee, making friends as an adult isn’t easy. Any advice or experiences you can share?
Forming friendships is always hard from a child to even now as an adult. As a child you always try to be liked & try to fit in to be just as “cool” as everyone. I honestly now give props to the outcast in school. You know, the ones who really didnt care to fit in or had their own style that wasn’t what was “in”. After leaving highschool maybe a year or two those friendships began to disappear. Everyone ventures in their own way. You really began to find who you truly are and find friendships that fit in your life. As an adult I’ve had my share of friendships who let me down. Its hard to form true friendships that are positive in your life. As a mom, I want positive influences those who understand I’m not free to always hang out late & let alone every weekend. What’s hard for me now as a model/influencer its finding true genuine friendships. Friends who either are not interested in you because of your popularity & friends who in the long run will find jealousy in who you are & what you accomplish. I want to find friends who are positive, who uplift others, & clap back to others success. Its very hard to come by. I really go off by the way people express themselves of others. The way they cheer you on & the way their vibe feels. I go off vibe a lot. I dont like to share much of my personal life unless I’ve truly truly discovered how people’s loyalty is to me. Many just want to know your weakness. Be yourself & always go off what you feel. Focus on people who make you happy, help you grow, inspire you, & understand your lifestyle.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I absolutely love expressing my love for Pinup. I have worked hard to be where I am. It hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to sacrifice a lot of my free time, time with my family, & even invested financially. I am true and genuine. I love to inspire others & show the world the beauty of a Chicana Pinup.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Barrio Logan, a stroll through Chicano Park. A piece of history & cultura. Every inch of the neighborhood is full of art & that Mexican American dream. Check out & shop small business. Appreciate the passion of other craft. I would definitely recommend at my favorite restaurant Barrio Dogg. Delicious hot dogs with a twist. Sit & enjoy a unique tasty michelada while listening to some funk & oldies & I’m sure you’ll catch beautiful Lowriders cruising through the streets.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I truly want to thank my husband Concho Ortiz @con_cheesey for supoorting my every step & being my best friend. You have been my biggest fan & I know will always cheer me on. I love you.
