We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Stark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Star-K is more of a persona than a business. I use it almost exclusively as a form of self expression and not necessarily as a means to generate income. If that was my goal, I’m not entirely sure that music and youtube videos would’ve been the right path. Creating music and going out and filming my adventures is more of an escape for me, and if those songs that I make or videos I upload speak to or impact one person, that’s enough justification for me to keep going.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I wouldn’t describe myself as an audiophile anymore, more of an audio addict. I’ve always had an obsession with music and creating sounds. When I became a teenager I started downloading programs and trying to make my own music. My family was always supportive of my creative side, but it wasn’t until I had an opportunity to perform at an event in the Qualcomm stadium lot that they got to see what I could really do. From there I got accepted into an audio program in Los Angeles, and learned first hand how to produce and write my own songs. With that knowledge and the help of a close friend that also produces music, I was able to release my first songs. That knowledge lead me to eventually opening and operating my own studio in San Diego, “Trinity Studios” that remained opened until the pandemic in 2021.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I frequent Little Italy, Old Town and the Bay Park area myself. I’ll hit Urbn Leaf and plant myself on the shores of fiesta island if I ever need a breather. Lots of great small businesses around there that I’m more than happy to give my support. This year though I’ve been spending a lot more time in Imperial Beach. Some of the best burritos and parks in the county down there!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to really give thanks to my friends and family. They showed up to small performances and helped me garner the small following that I have today. Without those people in my life, I don’t think my music would have ever been released to begin with.
