Decision Makers Series: avoiding decision fatigue by adopting effective habits

There’s a ton of research around how setting habits can help us conserve energy because it reduces the number of decisions we have to make in a day. However, not all habits are created equal and so we’ve asked our community to tell us about the habits they have been most effective for them.
What has helped me more than discipline or consistency even, has been perspective. It’s easy to be affected by the opinions of others especially with social media being as prevalent as it is. I’ve come to realize that if you’re constantly changing what you do to be more palatable and appealing to others, you completely lose yourself. Read more>>
#1) Set goals. Surviving in a creative and self-driven career, let alone thriving, is a taxing endeavor, and it’s all too easy to burn out and change careers altogether. I believe that having a strong work ethic is the foundation of success. I realized that all the amazing artists that I have watched when I was younger and still watch, are devoted to their craft and they work extremely hard to reach their goals. Talent is essential but work ethic definitely overpowers talent, and I think that being blessed with a talent means that as artists we should take the responsibility of working hard to develop our talents.
