Meet Whitney LaMonda | CEO and Yoga Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney LaMonda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Whitney, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started Thread Vision to fill a void in the market-completely customizable product creation. I wanted a place anyone could come to bring their unique product idea to life, exactly how they envisioned it. Anything from custom apparel lines, to accessories and paper products, you dream it we can make it!
There are plenty of merchandise companies in the industry, but they all come with limitations in terms of product capabilities, and I found many are lacking a customer service centered approach. Thread Vision is all about our clients, we do all the work on their behalf. With in-house design, sampling, and fulfillment we are your go to one-stop-shop for customized products to grow our clients brand equity.
Originally the concept was to focus on social media influencers, with e-commerce and generational trends it made perfect sense to supply this niche with access to their own products. Although this idea was spot on and remains the core of the business I have also expanded to athletes, emerging brands, and musicians; really anyone with an audience and a desire to grow!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The talented people at Thread Vision set us apart from the rest! Our team is the absolute best in the industry and we LOVE working together, it’s been over 8 years! Three strong, talented, driven women redefining how product can be successfully brought to market for our visionaries! We are constantly pushing each other, challenging ideas, and honing in to optimize all we do!
Starting a business has not been easy, wearing all the hats can feel very overwhelming and or discouraging at times. Staying organized, consistent, and utilizing my time management skills (thank you Marie Forleo’s Time Genius!) has made a huge difference. Identifying my priorities and scheduling my time accordingly allows me to feel accomplished daily, which in turn generates the motivation to keep going! I also practice meditation, yoga, and daily gratitude’s specifically focused on work-I wouldn’t be able to function without these modalities in my life and business.
I’ve learned so many lessons and am constantly testing, pivoting, and revising our processes’. I’m most excited for the future! Each lesson makes the business better, and as we work through the challenges of only being 15 months old, I know that every day operations will continue to improve! I’m so thankful for the client relationships we have formed, and all the friendships made. It’s thrilling to work with so many smart, motivated, and talented creators.
Thread Vision believes business, as with life, can always be conducted from a place of kindness and honestly and are proud to always operate with love first.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start w/ my favorite place in Orange County, Laguna Beach! First, we would rent some e-bikes or paddle boards from Laguna Beach Bums! After a dip in the ocean we would grab a bite at The Deck, Hotel Laguna, Nicks, or Rum Social. A hike to the top of the world is a great way to see the amazing views of the coast and hopefully Catalina! Nighttime festivities would include the sandpiper or rooftop Bar, of course. After Laguna we would road trip down to sleepy Leucadia to visit my favorite little spots 101 piercing and child of wild, I love every restaurant, coffee shop, surf shop and beach in the area so you can’t go wrong!
A full Disneyland day is always in order for the best-time ever! Maybe an Angel or Ducks game if they are in town, hitting up brewery row in Placentia beforehand, starting with Dueling Ducks!
The Orange Circle is full of vintage shops and has a fountain to make wishes; we can sample beers at The Wall or have fabulous Mexican from Gabby’s. Lastly we would round out the trip with by taking the ferry from Balboa island to the peninsula to explore the fun zone, catch sunset, and that last fabulous Margherita to end the best California adventure ever!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shout out to all the ladies and gentleman I worked with at my last corporate job, BB Dakota. IYKYK.
