Meet Stacy Wahlgren | Owner of Blow It a Balloons

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Wahlgren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Blow It Balloons was created back in November 2021 while in my hairdressers chair! I was chatting with her and expressed how I loved any excuse to celebrate a good party and bring my passion out in customizable balloon arches/garlands! So, at that moment I created my Instagram page, scared it wouldn’t “POP” off but I figured what do I have to loose?? Skip to a year later and here I am! Truly BLESSED to have come this far and I don’t plan on stopping! I’m excited to see what the future holds for me and my business!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I first started I had no clients so I had to offer some of my services for free and ended up meeting amazing people along the way. Yes, I was out of pocket a substantial amount but knew it would be worth it. I needed to show my work and have pictures for potential clients to come. To add to this, starting a business from scratch and being a stay at home mom of my (2) daughters has been VERY challenging as well. Trying to run a self made business all while taking care of a household is a challenge in itself. But I’ve proven to myself that anything is possible as long as your mind set is there and you can see! Something I’ve learned along the way is to celebrate the Little and of course BIG wins in your business. You may not be where you want to be at that exact moment but still celebrate and give yourself a pat on the back because you deserve it! Always Keep yourself motivated and stepping out of your comfort zone provides your growth as a business owner!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start our morning with coffee and a walk on the beach. Nothing like fresh crisp ocean air to get your day going and a hot cup of coffee from Better Buzz! Along the way, stop by a few stores to do some shopping.

At this point I’m sure we’ve worked up an appetite so off We’d go to Old Town for some historic buildings and good authentic Mexican Food, Barra Barra is one of my favorites!

After lunch I would take them to Seaport Village to walk around and grab dessert from the ice cream shop and wait for the famous Coronado Bridge to light up!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m so very thankful and grateful for my entire family. My husband who’s been so supportive during this new chapter of life with me starting a business. He’s been so encouraging and one of my biggest fan! My (2) daughters for always testing my balloons ensuring they are the best quality and always so amazed by Mommy’s talent! My Mom, Sisters, In Laws and close friends for always encouraging me and helping me out when needed so I can make my business possible! Most importantly, my clientele present and future, thank YOU! I couldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for you!
