We had the good fortune of connecting with Valerie Eddy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valerie, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The one thing about Peace Offers Mediation & Education is that most people are unaware of is that Mediation isn’t just for divorces or family matters. Mediation is for all types of conflicts or disputes.

What should our readers know about your business?

Peace Offers Mediation & Education is a woman owned small business based out of Julian, California. We provide Mediation or Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Education and Victim Support Services throughout the United States. Our Mediation specializes in Insurance Disaster Claims, Construction and Vehicle Claims with additional expertise in Elder Abuse and Victims of Crime.
We offer Training in Communication, Elder Abuse, and Understanding Homeowner Insurance Policies.

What sets us apart from other Mediation companies is the types of conflicts or disputes we handle. Our background in Construction, Automotive and Law Enforcement gives us our unique specialities.
We are proud of serving victims of Wildfire disasters throughout California with disputes with their insurance company. It landed us a contract with the California Department of Insurance.

Mediation is a tough sale due to the challenge of educating the public in what Mediation is. Just like Law Firms that specialize in different legal issues; Mediation and Mediators specialize in a wide variety of disputes. Anything anyone wants to fight over. We overcome these challenges through marketing and education.

One of the lessons I personally have learned is the people who come together to work on resolving their issues walk away with peace. Peace in resolving something that has been going through their mind a lot. We believe disputes are unhealthy. A wound that will not heal. Disputes leave us wondering with hurt and anger. That is why our motto is Resolving Disputes to Give You Peace.

I want the world to know that there is conflict everywhere and there is conflict resolution available everywhere! Peace Offers Mediation & Education currently serves the United States of America.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are so blessed to be in Southern California with so many wonderful places to go! So, we’re in Julian! My best friend is jet lagged. The first spot to head is Regular’s Wanted (coffee & pastry shop) , our version of Starbucks. Then off for a walk/hike in these Beautiful mountains. A nice lunch at Soups n’ Such. Strolling through the shops in Julian and a stop into the Tea Cottage. Dinner at the farm to table restaurant, Jeremy’s on the Hill. Spending the evening at home looking at the Milky Way since Julian is designated as an International Dark Sky Community. The 2nd designation in California behind Borrego Springs. Jumping down into the city is endless for whatever you want to do. Hitting the beach and canoeing the caves in La Jolla to any of the attractions like Legoland! The food options are bottomless, but the Gas Lamp District is a good place to start!
I’m still learning about all the great spots in San Diego! It really is never ending!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person that deserves a big SHOUTOUT is Natalie Armstrong-Motin with Marketing Resolution; Marketing Mediators & Arbitrators worldwide since 1995! Natalie and I go back to the beginning of my Mediation career. Natalie does these great youtube videos called Marketing Mondays and does podcasts featuring Mediators and Arbitrators. A few months back she invited me to be interviewed in one of her podcasts. Later, Natalie reached out and let me know that her Dad, David Armstrong, was doing a webinar that I might be interested in because he has done Dispute Resolution for the Construction Industry. That webinar and virtually meeting David, has expanded Peace Offers Mediation & Education’s specialization of Construction Disputes on to a new path!
