We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Freitus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Doing what I love and providing financial security for my family.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a solo musical artist. I perform what I like to call “grunge rap” influenced by 90’s style rap/rock music. I’ve learned being an artist, you have to treat it like a small business. Selling merchandise like shirts and cd’s. As an independent artist you wear a lot of hats, booking, marketing, inventory management. Getting monetized in social media forced my hand into setting up FrayTus -band name into turning it in to a LLC . Now it’s not just a band it’s a brand. I would like make the world a better and more positive place for all existence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go on a live music adventure. Hit all the local bars and music venues in the Tulsa, OK area. some of my favorites are Lot 6, the vanguard, the shrine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, and my wife Michelle Freitus, without God we would not be here, and with out my wife Michelle I would not have had the courage to even get started.
