Meet Adrianna Gonzalez | San Diego Wedding Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrianna Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrianna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Covid hit on my 10th year at my comfortable corporate job and I was laid off. What a blessing in disguise this was. I wasn’t sure what my next step would be. God opened a door for me.
I had always been in the photography industry, but never pursued my dream because of my comfortable 9-5 job. I hadn’t shot a wedding in a few years and I really had nothing to lose, so I reached out to some people on Facebook for some recent experience and that landed me 65+ weddings from June 2021 until today! After I was reminded that happiness is really doing something you love while getting paid for it, the decision to do weddings full time and start my business was an easy transition!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that I long to tell a story of your wedding day. I have a timeless, romantic and airy style which allows someone to look back at an old gallery and really feel the love you were experiencing the day of your wedding even though it was years ago. My ultimate goal is to capture who you are as a couple and help tell that story through the images we create together. It’s easy to just show up and smile for a photo, but when you have someone that helps you feel comfortable enough to be show who you truly are as a couple, to me, is really life changing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego, of course! I love this city! First, we’d start off in north county, maybe a trip to the Safari Park (cause your girl loves animals and the outdoors). Next, let’s head to Poway for a hike under a canopy of trees! La Jolla to check out all the beautiful landscapes.
Maybe check out a Padre game.
Coronado for a photoshoot!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course I would love to shout out my husband for encouraging me to follow my dream. And to my beautiful family for understanding why I sometimes have to miss a few family occasions. But as far as a mentor goes, my dear friend Nancy Easton, I love you! You have encouraged me to keep pushing even when it’s hard. If I was ever stuck she was just a phone call away and Lord knows, she was there through MANY tears! Get yourself a best friend and business pal wrapped into one!
