We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Castro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
When people hire me they are usually overwhelmed with their mess and that’s totally understandable because the objects around you influence and affect your emotions. The more stuff you have the more your stress level goes up especially if they are spread all over the place. My service is to provide a sense of relief and calmness. By asking questions the process of letting go happens facilitating the organization. The items that don’t serve that home anymore, when in good conditions, are donated to specific places depending on what they are. For instance Kitchens for Good, Humble Design, Salvation Army, Goodwill and Mexico are places where I personally take their donations. Coming from a third world country I value resources and I make sure to give them a better destination other than the landfills.
My goal is to share harmony with others by teaching how to take care of our home and by being conscious and responsible with everything we posses.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Interesting because that just happened last month. I live in South Park, San Diego and since is a walk distance to so many interesting places also it has this beautiful canyon view I suggest: Day 1- going for a walk on the South Park neighborhood and stop at Big kitchen Cafe for breakfast specially on the weekends they have live music and Judy is a San Diego icon. Still in South Park I recommend Kindred for some cocktails and Piacere Mio for dinner if you like a good Italian food.
Not far from there you have Balboa Park with so many museums and gardens.

Day 2- If you like seeing wild animals in their natural habitat La Jolla Cove has Seals and birds to watch and contemplate their natural beauty. In La Jolla I love eating at Trilogy Sanctuary and checking out the goodwill right in front has great pieces if you like thrift stores. Close to that area you also have the Gliderport and Torrey Pines park both beautiful for short hiking trails and scenic views.

Day3- Encinitas has the meditation garden and its exciting boulevard with bars, restaurants and stores that its worthy checking out.

Day4- On Wednesdays Ocean Beach has their street fair market, its fun watching people there and I love eating at Its Raw Poke, a small Hawaiian to go food, its the best! Grab and go eat at the pier or at Sunset Cliffs and hope for an amazing sunset .

Day5- Seaport Village and Downtown area is a vibrant and a touristic area with so many places to explore.

Day 6- Visit Coronado, you can take a ferry or rent a bike when you get there. The island is beautiful and small so by bike you can cover a lot.

Day 7- visit the beaches: Pacific Beach, Mission Beach Windensea they have their unique atmosphere.
Restaurants that I love: Jyoti-Bihanga, Muzita Abyssinian bistro, Thanh Tinh chay, TJ Oyster Bar San Diego doesn’t disappoint when it comes to variety of food, sunny days and beautiful landscapes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to a handful of people. First to Jody, my husband, for the endless support. To Cynthia Murray, who I learnt from how to transform my passion into business. Vera Sousa, for being a big inspiration and mentor. Marie Kondo for her books and teachings. Mary M., a client that has so much generosity and kindness with me and my career.
