We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Manni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Prior to my moving to San Diego, for many years I worked in advertising In NYC. I always wanted to write a book, create my own brand, and launch a business that helped people. But I needed the idea. When I looked around at what was happening in our culture, I realized there’s never been a better time for men to be whoever they want to be. Yet, it’s also a time where it’s never been less clear who men really are. So I began writing my book…

When my debut novel, THE GUYS’ GUY’S GUIDE TO LOVE, was published, it was called “the men’s successor to Sex and the City”. Like the main character in the story, I began blogging (at www.robertmanni.com), offering a fresh perspective about about how today’s men roll and the challenges they now face. The response was fantastic so I began hosting Guy’s Guy Radio, a prime time KCAA radio show in So Cal and worldwide podcast downloaded in over 100 countries. Last year I launched, Guy’s Guy TV, a new YouTube channel. The Guy’s Guy brand and message keeps growing organically because it meets a demand for an authentic dialogue that can help men, and women, live their best lives. I’ve produced over 525 shows and interviewed more than 650 thought leaders across myriad categories to help people,.

Whether it’s on navigating modern dating and relationships, or offering fresh takes on career, wellness, fitness, or spirituality, I share my authentic and unique perspective with which audiences immediately connect.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
After a successful career in advertising on Madison Avenue representing many of the world’s best known brands, I decided to build my personal brand with a goal of helping men, and women live their best lives. Of course, making the move to go out on my own following a more traditional corporate life was a major change. It would have been easy to quit many times when faced with the challenges of starting something new. But, I was determined to promote change so I crafted a unique brand message for the Guy’s Guy brand (when men and women can be at their best, everyone wins) that is connecting with people. Breaking through takes time, so I remained patient and focused on the work. I am inspired when my guests urge me to keep doing my Guy’s Guy Radio and Guy’s Guy TV show because we are making a difference. What else can you ask for…besides a few financial rewards along the way? After building my Guy’s Guy brand’s foundation around my novel I continually add positive content and additional media platforms. As a result, my audience keeps growing. I’m very excited because there is so much more to share. The Guy’s Guy brand motto is: Better men, Better world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego truly is in many ways, America’s Finest City. There is so much to see that it would easily fill up a week with fun and interesting activities. I would begin with downtown San Diego where I currently live,. Little Italy has many fine restaurants and places to sightsee, enjoy coffee, a dessert, or a local brew. Across town is majestic Petco Park, so if the Padres are at home, it’s a spectacular venue to watch a game and enjoy fun food. Balboa Park is close by, as is the San Diego Zoo, both which are deserving of a visit. Local beaches and boardwalks in Mission Bay, Ocean Beach, and Pacific Beach, Coronado are part of the laid back So Cal coastal culture. A scenic drive up Route 101 includes stops n La Jolla, Del Mar, Encinitas, and Carlsbad. Each coastal town has its own treasures and is worth a stop. If you have kids, Lego Land and Belmont Park are great, along with the new Sesame Street venue just south in Chula Vista. If you enjoy the beach, great weather, nice people, and a vast assortment of terrific venues to eat and drink, San Diego is a wonderful place to spend a week with family or friends.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without question I am eternally grateful to the 650 thought leaders I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, connecting with, and interviewing. More importantly I thank my wonderful team and everyone in my growing audience that’s read my book, listens to, watches, or subscribes to Guy’s Guy Radio on KCAA in So Ca my worldwide podcast, and Guy’s Guy TV, my new YouTube channel. The Guy’s Guy brand is dedicated to re-emancipating men, while helping both men and women live their best lives.
