We had the good fortune of connecting with Leticia Demeuse and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leticia, what principle do you value most?
Gratitude and appreciation.
It’s about focusing on what’s good in my life and being thankful for the things I have. Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted. In life and in my career, I often to take inventory and appreciate how far I have come and honor everything that happened in my journey.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been creating art for over 20 years. My art is my way to show the love and appreciation I have for life, and my goal is that my viewer can feel these emotions as well while looking at my paintings. I am proud to be represented by Galeria Gravura in Brazil and A Gallery in Palm Desert. I got where I am today with many years of practice, showing up consistently for my art practice. It was not a fast journey, but I enjoyed every step of the way, The challenges are what make life interesting, and when you learn how to look at them as lessons, they became part of your story, and you learn from them. You grow. You expand as a human. I finally understood that whether we think we can, or you think we can’t – we’re right, The famous Henri Ford quote. Success is a mental game and mindset is everything. I learned that we will never have the perfect conditions to follow our dreams, all we have is the now. I learn that confidence comes after taking action, and not the other way around.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to breakfast at Beach Plum kitchen in Carlsbad, then go stroll the streets of La Jolla. How about lunch at La Valencia Hotel with the beautiful ocean view, followed by an afternoon at MCASD, the Museum of Contemporary Art, also in La Jolla.? Since we are in La Jolla, why not stop to see my art and amazing decor at Nativa Interiors? Maybe happy hour and dinner in Little Italy? I love San Diego and feel blessed to live here!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Tony Robbins, Joel Jota and Elainne Ourives. (the 2 latter are both from Brazil)
