We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Jaxx and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Reading has been, hands down, the best habit. It has been like a seed that has sprouted so many other habits and processes that I use today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey as a creative started with a passion for non-fiction books concentrating on personal development, business and leadership. It has morphed into a little bit more than that at this point, but my core passion has remained the same: Read as many books as I can and apply lessons learned to my own life. I quickly found out the number of books available is a bit overwhelming and I felt like I had to binge read just to catch up. I would read one book which led me me to five more which led me to twenty-five more and it really never ends. This is when I realized that binge reading books was not the best practice and I created my social media account bingebookist to share my findings. I wanted to absorb the responsibility of binge reading all these books so others did’t have to and now I reach hundreds of thousands of people a month hoping to cut their learning curve down on their way to their next great book.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we are talking Downtown and it’s spring or summer? We would start with a half-day on the water on guided catamaran cruise having some beverages and enjoy company. For dinner I would head over the the Huntress Steakhouse for one of the best meals you will probably every have before retreating upstairs to the rooftop bar to have drinks and live it up! There are so many bars, breweries, and restaurants it almost too much! One of the great things I love about San Diego is there is always something different to do everyday.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As a book influencer I go by the name Jeremy Jaxx as kind of a “pen” name. My last name is not Jaxx, but it is inspired by my father and grandfather. They are both named Jack and since there are two of them I came up with Jaxx because it sounds like a pair of Jacks. They have influenced me tremendously throughout my life so I’m trying to do them same with my passion for books.
