Meet Shilpa Gopal | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shilpa Gopal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shilpa, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
During the day, I work as a PA (pathologist’s assistant). While I love being a health care worker, I needed something that would satisfy my creativity. I’ve always been an outside the box thinker, so starting creating content centered around all the things I love, horror, fashion, and beauty! I’ve found a really fun way to meld all of my niches in to one Instagram page, while also keeping the content fresh and trending!
Thinking of creative content is difficult, especially after a long shift, but it’s something I enjoy and need to keep myself challenged!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a full time Pathologists’ Assistant and part time content creator on Instagram. As a PA, I am constantly on my feet in a hospital setting. I get all the surgical specimens that come through the hospital, whether it be a simple biopsy, or a complicated multi-organ resection, I see it all. Usually, we are looking for cancer and help in the overall diagnosis of a patient by identifying possible invasion and assessing gross margins.
After my full time job, I come home and start creating content! This is my creative outlet. I started off with a regular, non-business Instagram page, but decided to start growing it and be more intentional with it during the start of the pandemic. I would post content everyday, which meant I’d come home from work everyday and create content for the next day, as well as stock pile content over the weekdays. It kept me busy, and definitely has it’s emotional challenges, but I am really proud of the community I have built and the friends that I have made along the way! My page focuses on highlighting sustainable brands, how to be aore mindful consumer, and spooky content which I do for myself because I enjoy it! I used to try boxing myself up in to a niche, but it never worked out for me and I started enjoying the process a lot less. I’ve loosened up and am trying to only put out content that makes me happy, and I’ve started enjoying myself a lot more!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m honestly such a home bodh, but Seattle is a beautiful city and has made me appreciate the outdoors a lot more! I love local parks like Gas Works and discovery. I’ve taken everyone that’s ever visited me to Mt. Rainier because it is honestly so stunning in every season one of my favorite parts about Seattle is that you can always see My. Rainier towering over the city on clear days!
As far as restaurants go, I love Cafe Flora and Life on Mars for brunch! I am vegan so they have a ton of options. For lunch, Honey Hole sandwiches is a great casual option and for dinner, Musang has the best, higher end ambiance, cuisine and service and Due’ Cucina has the ebst pasta I’ve ever had!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends and family who are constantly supporting my creative journey!
