Meet Reyna Sandoval | ShopSauvvy.com Online Boutique Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reyna Sandoval and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reyna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea of Sauvvy came to life in the summer of 2020 when I had a deep desire to rekindle my lifelong love affair with the world of fashion. I’d been craving creativity, and fashion has always been an art to me, so I faced my fears about starting a boutique for the third time. Equally terrified and thrilled, I finally decided to just go for it.
My love for fashion began at an early age. One of my earliest memories is insiting on only wearing dresses, and they had to twirl when I spun around. In high school, when I insisted on wearing a new dress to school every day, my dad (bless his heart) would take me to the mall on a weekly basis. After graduation, I studied fashion business and merchandising at Fashion Careers College in San Diego and dreamed of becoming a fashion forecaster or a buyer that would travel the world hunting down the latest fashion trends. With diploma in hand, I worked various jobs in fashion, but had a vision of something greater that gave me an outlet to express my style – that is how Sauvvy came into fruition.
Built by me from the ground up, I’ve put my heart and soul into every detail of this shop, and every aspect has been placed with intention. My goal for Sauvvy is to create a shop for women like me, women that are relentless at chasing their dreams by any means necessary and do so in the most fabulous outfits. Not only do I want to share my love for clothes, but also tell a raw romance story about my heart, passions and the life I’m chasing. My inspiration has come from countless hours I’ve spent indulging in my favorite things: wine, travel, shopping, and love songs. This shop represents my past, my present, and my future, with the fashion and music – sharing a part of my sensitivity and soul. I wanted to make Sauvvy so personal and unique, so I sourced each piece with careful consideration, in hopes that you’ll wear them on your wild adventures, special celebrations, and memorable life moments.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
” Nothing that is worth it is easy” – No truer words have ever been spoken.
Opening up an online boutique has been one of the most equally challenging/humbling/hardest things I have ever done in my life. I was terrified to start for years, all the what ifs and fear of failing held me back, until I finally decided to take the chance. I knew that if I didn’t give my dream an opportunity that I would always regret it. Being vulnerable to share my passion with my community felt so scary and I feared judgement and rejection. The overpowering thoughts of doubting myself took over until one day, I just started. One Youtube video at a time, I complied enough knowledge about the business to finally feel confident to bring my dream to life. It’s so crazy to think back to the beginning and all that I thought I knew – I was in for such a surprise.
All the things I was scared of happened – I’ve gone weeks without a sale, I’ve had no one buy on collection launches, fraud from strangers, charge back from friends – just to name a few.
But all the good things have happened too. I’ve had unconditional support from my family and friends, sold out on my opening launch, and hosted my first pop up here in San Diego with one of my best friends.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned during this process is that you must be consistent and truly believe in yourself. It’s so cliche but you must be your biggest supporter and believe YOU ARE CAPABLE. I know I can be my own worst enemy at times but I have to believe Sauvvy will work to actually make it work.
ShopSauvvy.com is coming up on being live for 9 months now and I couldn’t be more proud of my accomplishment. I’m currently holding every position in the business and at times it feels overwhelming but the thought of actually making my dream a reality keeps me afloat. I’ve had the highs and lows and I expect them to keep coming but one thing I know for sure is, I’m not giving up.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a Mission Beach gal so a perfect day for me in San Diego is starting the day off with a walk along the boardwalk with a stop at Woody’s for some coffee (Don’t forget your sunscreen, hat and glasses. Those morning rays can be stronger than you think!)
Post walk I’m going right over to Breakfast Republic for the best breakfast in town! I recommend trying the Veggie Scramble with potatoes. WOW!
If you’re like me, fitness is very important so I’m either going to Shock Fitness or Spirit Yoga to get a work out in. (I know this is vacation bit still…;) )
But my all time fave spot in SD that I could literally spend the rest of the day at is Jrdn Restaurant at Tower 23 Hotel in Mission Beach. My girlfriends and I cannot get enough of the Jrdn Salad with Salmon and a side of fries. Nothing beats the view and a spicy marg.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Forever grateful for my support system. I couldn’t run Sauvvy without the unconditional love and support from my Dad, best friends Nicole and Claudia and my boyfriend Dave.
