We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Bennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desiree, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I love the idea of risk-taking. I feel that risk-taking has helped me come out of my comfort zone and learn how to express myself within my music better and to learn more about myself every day by challenging myself to figure out exactly how I can be better than the day before. risk-taking plays a role within my life/career because by doing what I love every day and putting myself and my music out there for the world to see I took the biggest risk I could possibly take at this time In my life. 

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a music producer and artist. I’ve been playing guitar for twelve years and piano for four years now, and I’ve been producing music for four years now. What sets me apart from others would be that I’m a hardworker, and very independent. What I am most proud of is that I’m in school studying music and working on producing music and making connections with people in the same field of work as me. I got to where I am today professionally by working hard and staying determined to learn as much as I can when figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. A few lessons I’ve learned over time would be that you can’t make everyone like you and that it takes time for you to find what you’re good at and when you’re just starting that it’s important to enjoy the ride and appreciate the little moments. What I want people to know about me would be that I’m determined and very hardworking, also that I’m very supportive when it comes to helping out my friends, when it comes to being there when they need someone to listen to them. When it comes to my brand, I want people to hear it and get a positive vibe and energy from it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friends were visiting, i would say that we should visit the mall or go to a park and just hang out eating sushi and catch up with one another.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my beautiful family for always supporting me and my dreams.
