We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelsey Aida and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelsey, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I think “balance” is a trap. I prefer to aim for work/life harmony and flow. Some days are more work, some days are more play, but as long as I’m moving forward here and there, and feeling good doing it, I remember it will all work out how it’s supposed to!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I just finished writing my best, longest self-help book yet called The Manifesting Fix, to help people overcome the hidden resistance they have to their dream life. It was the most fulfilling project yet, and no, it was not easy! (I’m starting to feel like following your wildest dreams never is.)

It took grit, perseverance, sacrifice and ruthless belief in my vision in order to make this book a published reality (10 years after I received the idea for it). Literary agents told me the manifesting space was “too saturated”, publishers told me my social media following “wasn’t big enough”, and yet here we are getting it published by a Macmillan December 1st because when you have a calling and a creative vision you have to answer the call even if other people don’t get it at first.

I’m super excited about it because so far in the manifesting/goal-setting space everyone’s just been talking about “how to” manifest, but nobody is talking about why we make the vision boards, do the affirmations, write down our goals, and STILL struggle to create our dream lives. The Manifesting Fix is essentially the first ever manifestation troubleshooting guide that explains why you’ve been getting stuck and exactly how to fix that.

Ironically (or probably un-ironically in the eyes of the universe) I had to do almost everything I teach about in the book in order for the actual book to become a reality. So I can indeed confirm, it works!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love hanging out in Leucadia! You can spend the whole afternoon practicing yoga, hanging at the beach, grabbing a juice or acai bowl… it’s a fun little neighborhood with lots of good vibes and wellness infusion. Be sure to spot by the meditation gardens t get a little energetic tune up while you’re there. That’s one of my favorite hidden gems.

After that, I would drive down the coast to Del Mar and La Jolla for some fine dining, shopping, and more stunning ocean views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my husband who always believes in me even when I don’t aways believe in myself.
