Meet Victoria Holly | Interior Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Holly and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I knew I wanted to go into interior design from a very young age and was fortunate to be exposed to the world of design early on. My dad used to bring me to art and antique auctions, and I remember feeling so excited and inspired by everything I saw. I also grew up surrounded by design magazines and I would cut out photos of furniture and decor I loved and make mood boards and mock-ups as early as age seven. I loved the idea of creating beautiful, sacred spaces for people. Homes that feel deeply personal and well thought-out. And I realized I wanted to build something of my own. Starting Victoria Holly Interiors allowed me to fully shape the creative vision and the client experience. It’s been incredibly rewarding to design homes that bring comfort, inspiration, and beauty to people’s lives.
I started our company in 2012, originally in Boston, then spent some time working in New York. Eventually, I relocated to Los Angeles and made it the permanent home for Victoria Holly Interiors. Our business is fully based here and serves clients both locally and across the country.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I founded Victoria Holly Interiors in 2013 and over the years it’s evolved into a full-service design firm working on everything from furnishing and decor to large-scale renovations and new builds. In the beginning, things felt easier in some ways, I was 24, and I didn’t have the same fears or overthinking that come with time and experience. I said yes to everything and figured things out as I went.
As the business grew, so did the challenges like larger projects, budgets, and tighter timelines and hiring and managing a team, building systems, and learning how to scale. The company I started over a decade ago is completely different from what it is now. Every stage has required me to rethink how we work, adapt our process, and grow into the next version of what our firm needs to be.
What I’m most proud of is the level of thought and care we bring to each project. We work hard to make each space feel unique, deeply personal, and rooted in the architecture of the home so that no two projects are the same. We source quality, we collaborate closely, and we stay detail-obsessed so the final result feels effortless.
At the end of the day, what matters most is that we’re creating homes for people and not just pretty spaces. Everyone works hard to afford a home, no matter the scale, and it’s where the most important parts of life happen like family memories and a safe space, and we take that seriously.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m definitely more of an introvert so my idea of a perfect week in Los Angeles focuses on appreciating the beautiful moments in the city. One of the things I love most about LA is how close we are to nature . We have incredible hiking trails just minutes from the city and an impressive amount of hiking trails. So I love taking friends on different hikes!
I’d also make time for the local farmers markets, we always go to ours in Studio City. It’s such a great way to connect with the local community. Of course, I’d have to include In-N-Out Burger at some point. It’s just part of the experience!
For a place that is both beautiful and historic, I’d bring them to Greystone Mansion. The grounds are gorgeous, and it feels like a little escape from the city. And a visit to the Getty is always worth it with the architecture, the views, and the way everything is so thoughtfully designed makes it such an inspiring place to spend a quiet afternoon!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad introduced me to the world of art, antiques, and design from a very young age, and it was his passion for those things that made it all feel so exciting and alive to me. That early exposure shaped how I see design today and gave me the foundation to pursue this career in the first place. One of the things I really appreciate about my dad is that he never put limits on what I could do professionally, even when I was younger and mentioned I wanted to start my own company, he just said “great,” without questioning it or putting up roadblocks, and that kind of support stayed with me.
I also think a lot about the early clients who trusted me when I was just getting started! Those relationships mattered more than they probably realize. When you’re building something from the ground up, it takes a lot for someone to believe in your vision before it’s fully formed and I’m grateful to the people who did.
