Meet Lara Langdon | Doctor of Physical Therapy @ Advanced Practitioner of Frequency Specific Microcurrent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lara Langdon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lara, what are you inspired by?
What inspires me is the extraordinary complexity of the human body and its innate ability to adapt, heal, and thrive. That spark of wonder – first ignited when I discovered how movement could reshape my scoliosis-curved spine as a teenage athlete – grew into a lifelong passion for understanding what makes us feel truly “alive”.
My journey has taken me from traditional physical therapy clinics to private practice to medical anatomy dissection labs and ultimately to creating my healing sanctuary at Indigo Dragon Center. Along the way, I’ve collected puzzle pieces – Western medical training, Eastern meridian theory, fascial research, bioenergetic science – that together reveal a profound truth: we are dynamic networks of physical, emotional and energetic intelligence.
What inspires me most is witnessing that moment when a client rediscovers their body’s wisdom. Like a former dancer who thought chronic pain meant she’d never move gracefully again, until we uncovered how emotional trauma had literally shaped her posture. Or the veteran whose “treatment-resistant” back pain finally eased when we addressed his nervous system’s fight-or-flight patterns. These transformations remind me daily that healing isn’t about fixing broken parts, but restoring deep connection – to ourselves and to life.
In my Encinitas practice, I blend cutting-edge science with ancient wisdom because the body speaks both languages fluently. The same fascia that transmits cellular signals also carries the emotional stories we’ve embodied. The autonomic nervous system that guides our feelings of anxiety versus relaxed also maps onto our neuromuscular pathways. This interdisciplinary approach allows me to create truly personalized roadmaps for healing.
What keeps me inspired after decades in this work? The privilege of being present when someone moves from “I’m broken” to “I’m becoming.” That magic moment when pain transforms into possibility – that’s why I do what I do. Because each of us has an innate intelligence waiting to be remembered, and there’s no greater honor than helping individuals reclaim their wholeness.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My life’s work has been dedicated to empowering individuals to overcome difficult-to-treat conditions by blending cutting-edge technologies with an East-meets-West approach to healing. Recognizing the limitations of traditional physical therapy led me on a journey to explore innovative, science-backed modalities that reignite the body’s cellular energy—helping to heal nerve pain, diminish inflammation, and repair lifelong patterns of strain.
I specialize in Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), a revolutionary, drug-free therapy that uses low-level electrical currents to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing. This gentle, non-invasive treatment is transforming how we manage complex conditions, including stubborn back pain, fibromyalgia, Lyme disease, Long COVID, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, shingles, mold illness, and autoimmune disorders. Many individuals have tried everything—medications, injections, even surgery—without finding relief, only to experience breakthroughs with FSM. By augmenting the body’s innate bioelectric system, FSM is at the forefront of modern medicine, offering renewed hope to those who had nearly given up on feeling vital again.
I believe true healing happens when we address the body, mind, and emotions together. That’s why I take a holistic, personalized approach, incorporating lifestyle modifications and bioenergetic principles to support long-term recovery. My goal is to provide science-backed, results-driven solutions that not only relieve pain but also restore balance and vitality in individuals’ lives.
Beyond my clinical work, I’ve spent over a decade teaching human anatomy and advanced therapies at the University of California San Diego Medical School and the University of St. Augustine DPT Program. I hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital and am a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (Emeritus).
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me outdoors, practicing yoga, or spending time with loved ones. I’m passionate about mindfulness, movement, and balance—both in my life and in my work. This work is more than just a career for me—it’s a mission to restore hope, vitality, and quality of life to those who need it most.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d make sure she had an unforgettable time exploring Encinitas and Downtown San Diego.
We’d start by grabbing lunch at Nectarine Grove for something delicious on the patio, then head to Moonlight Beach to relax and walk the beach with a Lofty Coffee. Pacific Coast Grill later-on for cocktails and sunset…
Next morning, we’d head out to tackle the Swami’s “stair crawl” down the coast to PCG. We’d then stroll back along the Vulcan Trail and grab lunch at Good on Ya. Later, we could walk around the shops on the 101.
We’d catch the 4:55 pm Coaster from Encinitas to Downtown San Diego and walk to Little Italy for drinks at Lala’s, followed by an Italian dinner at Barbusa with a front table for endless people watching.
For more exploring, we’d check out Balboa Park and grab lunch at The Mission. We could wander through Seaport Village and indulge in outdoor patio at Born & Raised for dinner (if she was paying!) in Little Italy.
Another day, we’d head to Coronado Island for lunch at Henry’s and walk around the Del Coronado.
A hike at Torrey Pines and a short trip to the glider port one day for sure!
And a last day at the beach in Del Mar and Seagrove park with lunch outside at Sbicca’s would be the best!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A Shoutout To My Amazing Family:
You are my rock, my cheerleaders, and my heart. Your endless support, love, and belief in me fuel everything I do. I wouldn’t be where I am without you—thank you for being my foundation and my joy.
