We had the good fortune of connecting with Mel Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mel, is there something you believe many others might not?
That you just need the right systems in place and you’ll be able to stay organized.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, as The Clutter Expert, focuses on helping high-achieving believers of Jesus remove the internal and external clutter that keeps them from fully aligning with God’s purpose for their lives. What sets me apart is my ‘From the Inside Out’ approach, which emphasizes addressing the root cause of clutter—our internal struggles, limiting beliefs, and unresolved emotions—rather than just managing physical items. This ensures lasting transformation instead of short-lived results.

What I’m most proud of is the way this work empowers people to create space for abundance in every area of their lives, from their homes to their relationships, careers, and connection with God. It’s deeply rewarding to see my clients step into their purpose with clarity, confidence, and freedom.

My journey here was anything but easy. I grew up in extreme clutter and chaos, both physically and emotionally. My personal transformation began when I realized that my external clutter was a direct reflection of my inner turmoil. Overcoming this wasn’t a quick fix; it required me to look within, rewrite the stories I’d been telling myself, and align with God’s plan for my life. The experience of turning my pain into my purpose is what fuels my passion for helping others do the same.

Challenges were plentiful, from self-doubt to building a business based on an approach that goes deeper than surface-level solutions. I overcame them by staying committed to my mission, learning to embrace vulnerability, and trusting that God had a bigger plan for my life. The most important lesson I’ve learned is that transformation begins with willingness—the willingness to look within and take one small step at a time.

What I want the world to know about my brand is that clutter is more than a pile of stuff—it’s anything that keeps you from living the life God has called you to live. By clearing it at its root, you not only create space for what matters most but also unlock the freedom to step fully into your purpose.

My story is proof that no matter how cluttered life may seem—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—freedom is possible when you’re willing to look within and let God lead the way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Arizona, I’d plan an unforgettable week showcasing the most breathtaking sights, thrilling activities, and delicious food the state has to offer. We’d start in the Valley of the Sun, with a morning hike at Camelback Mountain or the McDowell Sonoran Preserve to soak in the stunning desert views. Afterward, we’d grab a fresh and healthy lunch at True Food Kitchen in Scottsdale before exploring Old Town Scottsdale, where we’d browse boutique shops, art galleries, and immerse ourselves in the vibrant Southwest vibe. For dinner, we’d head to The Mission in Scottsdale to enjoy upscale Mexican cuisine in a cozy, atmospheric setting.

Next, we’d head to Sedona for a magical experience. The day would begin with a hike at Cathedral Rock or Devil’s Bridge, two of the area’s most awe-inspiring spots. After working up an appetite, we’d refuel with amazing Thai food at Thai Spices Natural Restaurant, a local favorite. In the afternoon, we’d embark on an exhilarating Pink Jeep Tour to explore Sedona’s iconic red rocks up close. As the day winds down, we’d watch the sunset at Airport Mesa, where the views are nothing short of spectacular. We’d spend the night at the cozy Amara Resort and Spa to relax and recharge for the next day.

The adventure would continue with a road trip to the Grand Canyon, where we’d spend the day hiking along the South Rim, capturing incredible photos, and marveling at one of the world’s natural wonders. On the way back, we’d enjoy a memorable meal at El Tovar Dining Room, with breathtaking views of the canyon as the backdrop. The following day, we’d explore Flagstaff, a charming mountain town, and visit the Lowell Observatory or stroll through the lively Downtown Flagstaff area. After grabbing a wood-fired pizza lunch at Pizzicletta, we’d take a scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon on our way back, enjoying the dramatic landscapes.

To embrace the beauty of the desert, we’d spend the next day at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, where we’d learn about native plants and desert ecosystems. For lunch, we’d savor farm-to-table dining at The Farm at South Mountain, a peaceful oasis in the city. In the afternoon, we’d take a tour of Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s desert masterpiece, before ending the day with a luxurious dinner at Elements at Sanctuary Resort, which offers breathtaking views of Paradise Valley.

Midweek, we’d take a day trip to Tucson, where we’d hike at Sabino Canyon or explore Saguaro National Park, home to Arizona’s iconic cacti. For lunch, we’d indulge in authentic Sonoran Mexican food at El Charro Café, the nation’s oldest Mexican restaurant. The afternoon would include a visit to the Mission San Xavier del Bac, a beautiful historic landmark, before returning to Phoenix for a quiet evening.

We’d wrap up the trip with a day of relaxation and reflection. A peaceful walk at Tempe Town Lake or paddleboarding on its calm waters would set the tone for the morning. For brunch, we’d head to Hash Kitchen, known for its creative and delicious dishes. In the afternoon, we’d visit Papago Park to explore its unique rock formations, including the iconic Hole in the Rock. To end the week on a high note, we’d enjoy a family-style dinner at Olive & Ivy in Scottsdale, dining by the waterfront in a warm, inviting ambiance.

Arizona is such a special place, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, outdoor adventure, and vibrant culture. From the iconic red rocks of Sedona to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon and the energy of Phoenix, there’s something for everyone. The delicious food, Southwest charm, and incredible scenery make this an unforgettable destination.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to God. He’s the one who helped me overcome all the manifestations of clutter that I went through in my life, physical clutter, mental clutter, addiction, being overweight and homeless. He’s the one who guided me along the path to learn all the skills I needed in order to do what I do and He sparked the idea in my soul to launch this business 11 years ago. All glory be to God. I wouldn’t be where I am without Him.
