We had the good fortune of connecting with Daria Novoselia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daria, how do you think about risk?
In my life, I often take risks. I moved abroad alone, without money, friends, or family. Completely on my own, I definitely understand what it means to take such a risk and what it’s like to bet my entire life on luck and my ability to adapt to a new environment. I didn’t know the language, but I always tried to find ways to overcome that. The most important thing for me was people. People were my key to knowledge and success. I learned a lot from them, and they taught me many valuable lessons.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Firstly, I am a Master of Sports in rhythmic gymnastics and hold a Ukrainian degree. This background facilitated my move to the USA. The Sports Club of America invited me to work due to my skills and achievements, which I have always been proud of. I work as a rhythmic gymnastics coach, and at this stage of my life, this is my main profession. I studied and worked hard to be able to work in the USA today. I also work as a stretching coach, as not only children want to have a healthy and beautiful body. This has become my second profession, evolving naturally from the first.

I have always loved participating in photo shoots for brands and being a model. My first country of emigration was Indonesia. I moved to Bali and worked actively there as a model and a stretching trainer. After that, I realized that being a traveler is also incredibly fulfilling. I have a blog—it’s not very big, but I enjoy my trips and I’m incredibly happy to share my experiences with my friends.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow, that’s a lot of places! It’s hard to pick just one, but I definitely recommend visiting Bali—it’s an incredible place of power. I love it with all my heart, and for me, it feels like a second home.

My life in America is also full of exciting moments, and I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Hawaii. And you know, my suggestion might be a bit unusual, but I would advise going alone. Disconnect from your worries, turn off your phone, and immerse yourself in complete silence and tranquility. Get to know nature and yourself. It’s an unforgettable experience. You should definitely visit Mauna Kea on the Big Island. My main recommendation is to go for the sunset—it’s breathtaking.

In my blog, you can find many cool places that I’ve visited and would recommend to everyone!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Every person I’ve met in the last three years has helped shape who I am today. Some have encouraged me to look deep within myself. Some have taught me to love myself. Some have shown me what my dream life and routine could look like. Some have shown me what love is. Some have taught me to take risks and stand up for my point of view. I’ve met all these wonderful people during my three-year solo emigration.
