Meet Mimi Cerutti | Owner and Curator; Cerutti Charcuterie

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mimi Cerutti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mimi, what do you value most in your business?
First of all, thank you for the opportunity to share again! Things in business are always changing and evolving so it’s always a pleasure to be able to share my journey with the community here.
I think the most important thing to me in my business is that what I do and all of my creations comes from the heart and in turn touches hearts.
It’s easy to see that my creations create eye popping experiences for those who get to see them before they are eaten and demolished! There is a “wow” factor, especially for those who have never seen anything like them before.
My spreads are also a tasting experience. The varieties of meats and cheeses, fruits and vegetables, are a play on guests’ taste buds and a fun snacking experiences.
But most importantly, I want my clients to experience the attention and love that goes into this business and my creations from the day that they contact me to the day of their event.
Everything that I do inside of this business comes from my heart and it’s important to me that this always shines through.
And here’s why;
I had a very treacherous upbringing and I have been through many of life’s challenges in my adult life. I’ve also spent many years healing from a difficult past and in the midst of it all, I’ve also raised 5 children.
Over the past few years, as my children became adults and I found myself becoming an empty nester, I realized that I needed to find a new calling for myself. While food has always been a passion of mine, a new iteration was birthed when I started making charcuterie boards.
For me, this was a new way that I could exercise my artistic side while also bringing the joy of food to people’s celebrations.
This endeavor is quite personal to me. I have found a joy that I’ve never before experienced in my career that is outside of my greatest joy of being a mother.
Life can be hard and serious so much of the time. It is my mission that this business brings love and joy not just to myself, but to anyone who works with me or books their event with me.

Alright, so has this path been easy for you?
The path has been far from easy but incredibly worth every moment. I am far from where I want to be still, but I continue to trust the process and believe that as long as I don’t give up and keep pushing, I will get there.
I have had to dig deep within myself to push past the limiting belief systems that were instilled in me over the years. The success of this business so far has helped me to grow in ways that I never imagined possible. It’s hard to put into words sometimes, but this business has helped me to become the woman that I longed to be for many years.
Sometimes you have to take actions that don’t always show an immediate result and require a great amount of faith. The more you do that, the more you grow to believe. That is what I’ve experienced in starting and growing Cerutti Charcuterie. Sometimes you just have to keep working toward something you can’t see.
As time goes on, my vision and goal for this business continues to evolve and in so many ways I feel like I’m just getting started!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since I’m obviously a foodie, I would take them on a journey of eating! One of my favorite things about where we live is the food. We could eat a different cuisine and have a different dining experience every day of the week!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people behind this business and all that I do that it can bring me to tears!
First and foremost is my children. They have watched me come through some dark times and they have supported and cheered me on through it all. They are my helpers when I need them and they show up for me when it’s crunch time and help me to meet the deadlines that come with catering all kinds of events! They are my life savers. They love and believe in me and what I’ve created here, sometimes more than I do myself. My kids are my biggest reasons. I hope to show them that they can rise from anything and create a life and career path that they love, no matter what.
My love and life partner is my absolute rock. From the moment that I made the decision to embark on this endeavor, he has supported me steadfastly. He has believed in me and shown me a partnership in life and this career that I’ve only dreamed of until he came along. I’m so thankful to have him by my side for the roller coaster of being a business owner!
From the beginning in 2021, I’ve had so many friends and family cheering me on and pushing me to heights that I haven’t always known how to reach.
My cousins, the Mier family, who had the vision with me and loaned me their kitchen for my first creations and photos. They then went on to share with their friends which led to my very first wedding graze. They’ve also shown up to help and to show their support on so many occasions. I often think of them when I’m struggling to keep the faith as they have seen the vision with me from the beginning.
And then there’s some of my dearest friends and fellow entrepreneurs who have hired me and/or pushed and empowered me to keep going and thinking bigger; Essential Anne, Patrina Wisdom, Arian Pyer, Chloe Brown, just to name a few. I am grateful for every single one of you.
