We had the good fortune of connecting with Karen Favela and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karen, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factors behind our success are dedication, determination and our family.
We only know the long hours, hours planning, building projects, dedication to the customers that we put into our business. Our dedication has reached many homes, corporations, halls, and every event is a special occasion. We are truly great full to let us be part of their special moments and letting us share their experience with us. Our family is the foundation of this project, it is our inspiration to go above and beyond to creating a successful brand.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our Business came about during the pandemic, we wanted to create a brand for clean, sophisticated and unique catering. We have invested a lot in overcoming our presentation, taste, and customer service. All this effort is to give the best experience possible to our customers. We are not the typical catering that is hired, serves and leaves. We are an experience; we target your visual, olfactory, gustatory, auditory sensors to fulfill our experience. We are most excited because we were named Caterer of the year in 2023 by The Event Community, we feel our long hours, hard work and dedication has paid off. Our journey has not been easy, but it has not ended. We continuously encounter challenges that we take one step at a time, because without those challenges we would not be where we are today.
We did not start with a big budget, a book on how to run our developing business, nor the experience on running a business.
Our experience has changed, and so the way our business runs. We have gained a lot of knowledge, and yet we have still a lot to learn, but we are grateful to GOD for where we are today.
We have learned that people come and go, the market changes, things change and you have to move with the changes. The key to grow is to get out of your comfort zone, in 2022 we started with 1 service and two years later we have more than 22+ services that we provide. Sometimes a new service we did not know how to provide the service, but that did not stop us. We did our best to make it happen, and to this day they are the best sellers. We do not look at how it cannot be done, but on how we can make it happen. The only things you can achieve is to win or to learn, with this mentality your can only find improvements to your work rather than settling in a comfort zone.
We are a company that is based in Eastlake, Chula vista. We strive to make our catering events; if it would be food catering or snack bar catering the highest quality, service and presentation available.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love our city, we have vast places that we like to go to and see, first of all our community in Eastlake is a great area for family, wellness and activities. Our community pool in The Woods is a great place to take our kids and rest. We also love Hawks park right around the corner it has great views, walking trails, play areas and lots of grass. Our favorite eating spots are so many! we name a few just because we will never end! Phill’s BBQ, Island Prime and also has a phenomenal view, Cowboy star restaurant in Downtown, Romesco in bonita. We like to Visit Seaworld of San Diego because every month they have a variety of shows and themes, it has our daughters very intrigued. Also one of the best Zoo’s in the country is in San Diego, we like to visit from time to time. Our favorite beaches are in La Jolla and Coronado. They are very quiet, relaxed, and among the best beaches in the United States. During Winter we like to visit either Julian for the snow and some fresh pie! or Mt. Laguna. Most of the time it snows, we are really great full to be 2 hrs from the snow and just a drive down to the beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to thank our family for all the support that they have given us during our start up and our journey, your help has been invaluable.
