Meet Irene Quevedo | CEO & Life and Business Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Irene Quevedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Irene, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I don’t care to move in circles that seek comfort! So my first natural habit & routine is to take advice only from those more successful than me OR from those who’ve tried and failed and have learned from the journey of trying, not the journey of opinion without action. To me, real success comes from growing, stretching, and becoming a better version of ourselves year after year, and that isn’t done from one’s comfort zone. In my career and business pursuits, ambition has been a driving force. I love the hunger and drive to achieve, even though I understand the relentless chasing of improvement isn’t for everyone. It is, however, for me. With that understanding in mind, I’ve always pushed myself with three particular skill sets: urgency, entrepreneurial grit, and a fierce consistency to achieve a level of success that beats my personal best year over year. It’s never been about competing with other women, but instead competing with myself. I lead myself, my husband, my children, and successful organizations. As such, I have found so much magic in servant leadership (wanting others to grow so we all grow). This brings me to a final habit: I only stay for a short time in places and spaces that may stifle personal growth. This might be toxic work environments or relationships. When I see mediocre mindsets or a lack of goals that may hold me up, I remove myself from such influences that would only become a race to the bottom instead of racing to the TOP!

What should our readers know about your business?
For nearly two decades, I’ve had a successful career in nonprofit development, fundraising, and leadership. I began thriving quickly in this space, propelling me into other entrepreneurial ventures, such as co-founding a successful top-rated podcast (The Level Up Latina Podcast) and a Life and Business Coaching company: WealthyLatinas.com! What sets Wealthy Latinas apart from other coaching companies is its founding mission to free the ambition in women. Women may see ambition as a negative, especially first-gen—women of color. Perhaps the illusion of greed or “being too much” keeps women from proclaiming their deepest desires for success, power, and wealth! Well, enough is enough. Women, especially Latinas, can reach the highest levels of visibility and financial success. Our coaching company is based on this growth-for-all model to ensure that women recognize their worth and command it in every salary negotiation conversation, in relationships that might be failing, and as part of their long-term goals to achieve financial independence. Wealthy Latinas is for everyone, no matter where you find yourself in your wealth journey. So all women from all walks of life, in all industries, have a place in our community meant to level them up first through the Level Up Latina podcast and second, which is the most transformative, through very intentional and powerful 1:1 coaching experiences. Our coaching packages are intentionally affordable so that all women can acquire the professional mentorship needed to achieve career and personal success, both as strategically and as quickly as possible!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I grew up in SoCal, in the South Bay, and while I’ve gone on to live in many other parts of the world, traveling consistently for years to so many magical destinations, beaches, and landmarks, my hometown in LA is the best!
I raised my children in Redondo Beach, CA. because, frankly, the schools here are incredible, so the first thing we’d do in this town is take folks out for a yummy breakfast at Eat at Joe’s in Redondo and for a good time we’d for sure have dinner close to the avenues — where there’s too many great restaurants to pick only one. Next, we’d spend time at the best beaches SoCal has to offer… riding bikes from Torrance Beach to El Segundo. Manhattan and Hermosa Beach piers are a must-see, with laid-back vibes welcoming all. The sunsets here are unbeatable.
My favorite restaurants in town are El Pollo Inka, Fusion Sushi, Tacos Goloso, Martha’s on Second, and the Bottle Inn.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Diego, deserves so much credit for how far I’ve come in my lifetime. Sometimes, I feel he was brought into my life to be the father I never had. In other moments, I see him as the thought partner I needed to fulfill my wildest dreams and greatest ambitions. Then, in the simplest of times, I believe my husband and partner in life was meant for me, many lifetimes before this one. We’ve raised three exceptional children, and we do so with love, enthusiasm, and heart. I couldn’t have possibly parented my children with such patience and presence if it weren’t for my husband. I could not travel the world as frequently as I do without his undying support and appreciation for my sense of constant adventure. He helped us execute a trip that lasted 12 months to over 14 countries. WOW, what a man!!! Thanks to his unwavering dedication and love, he makes me better and elevates me to levels of belief that make me unstoppable. I’ve had a secret weapon with his support for almost 20 years. Thanks to such an intentional and encouraging spouse, I am honestly not alone in life. While this might seem like a give-in with husbands across the planet, I’ve realized that only a few are like mine. He’s doting, unselfish, thoughtful, and present. Helpful and brilliant. He makes me better simply by existing in such a self-assured manner. Without him, there would be no thriving businesses under my leadership, MBAs, C-suite roles, travel sabbaticals, or successful, happy children! Thank you, my love. Thank you!
