Meet Dorothy Tannahill-Moran | Certified Sound Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dorothy Tannahill-Moran and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dorothy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
While I’m a Sound Healer, what I offer is unique and fairly uncommon. As a result of the pandemic, offering services such as sound therapy online became more of a possibility because people were seeking services remotely. This set up the perfect environment for me to launch an online Sound Therapy business using the targeted frequencies for a variety of offerings to a membership. By offering Sound Healing online, it allows me a level of creativity still using my specialized Tibetan singing bowl recordings and layering various enhancements like various brainwave binanaural beats, nature sounds, all layered in with my frequency recordings. These recordings address issues people have such as stress, pain, fear, and sleep which the frequencies can address with the recordings. With all of these offered online, access is 24×7 anywhere in the world. My overall goal is to get these frequencies to as many people as possible and staying local, which is so often the case with sound healers, simply wasn’t the way to go.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is still emerging. To a large degree, because what I do is so unique and kind of hybrid, we have to market and educate at the same time. Yes, this is a Sound Healing business that does meditation, targeted frequencies which almost no sound healer does, that is very targeted which almost no sound healer really does or can do if they are honest about it, and its online with recordings and live events. Most people are used to meditations online as apps, check. Most people are used to sound healers in their local communities, no check. Meditation, sound healers, recordings, targeted solutions with recordings all online, that is the business challenge. For the customer members, they are hard core loyal people who have personally experienced the shifts and magic (if you will). The goal ahead is to simplify all of this into compelling reasons why people either want to solve issues they have with their mind, body, or soul or to simply go to the next level of spiritual growth.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I tend toward extremes. I’d go to a spa and get every service available, then hit a coffee shop afterwards because I couldn’t move I’d be so relaxed. But I like weird things like the Museum of Death or the Sunken City. I’ve never seen Tesla’s Coil but that would give me a good excuse. I’d want to eat at Pinks a few times because I always find more than one thing I want so a few trips would allow me to indulge. Lastly, I’d cruise a few Dim Sum places starting with Hong King Dim Sum.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Shoutout goes to two different people: 1 – Dr Catheen King who started the Primal Trust business and who pushed me to offer sound therapy to her community several years ago. Without her push, I wouldn’t be offering my services publicly. 2- Alex Vasquez who built my website/membership site. He is great to work with and has made getting this part of my business a joy. He built an awesome website.
