We had the good fortune of connecting with Cherise Klosner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a modern day wedding officiant. I work with couples to create a ceremony that reflects their love story and authentic style. Too often the ceremony portion of a wedding is considered to be boring or something that just has to happen so that folks can move on to the fun parts of the day and I am here to change that narrative. Ceremonies are not one size fits all. Each couple has a unique story of how they went from meeting to dating to engaged and I infuse that into the ceremony so that when they are in the exact moment of saying ‘I do’ they are hearing and feeling their why all around them.

I have now performed hundreds of ceremonies over the years and I’ve learned so much. From the trends of each season and how that changes the tone of a wedding to calculating taxes and determining the best work/life balance. I’ve also learned to honor the differences between other wedding officiants. Rather than view them as competition, I see them as a community. We all have the same goal of uniting couples in marriage but our styles are very different. This allows all of us the opportunity to work in joy with couples who are a good match for us.

What I want people to know about my business is that when they hire Another One Ties The Knot they are hiring me, Cherise. I am a down to Earth, small city girl, who loves a good story, swears too much (not during the wedding though lol), and who enjoys getting dressed up to celebrate. I will be a couple’s hype girl and biggest advocate to ensure their wedding ceremony is a joyful experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As I’ve gotten older I like to venture to places that are much closer to home. First, we would head over to the Ruston Way Market in Tacoma and check out the shops. I’m always buying handmade soap so we would see what’s new. Then grab food from a food truck because it always tastes better when it comes out of a moving vehicle for some reason. And if it is the Seoul Bowl Truck then we grab food to eat there and food to take home because it is my favorite food truck of all time!! Next we would need to burn off some calories so we would walk the waterfront and hope to see a pod of Orcas passing through. Finally we would finish the day with an Espresso Martini or New York Sour from Copper and Salt. The best part about all of these things are that they are all in a central location. We can park and walk from place to place taking it all in. #Tacoma

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a huge shoutout to my mom Denise, my sister Brittany, and my brother Kyle. They have all been incredibly supportive of my business since day one. My mom is the original side hustle queen. All of my life I have watched her as she finds new ways to be creative and bring in extra cash flow. My little brother is quick to share the successes of his big sister while always keeping me humble with some sort of joke. And my sister, my unofficial, unpaid partner who I turn to when I have questions or need a little input. She is the one I bounce ideas off of and share stories with. She is eight years younger than me but I look up to her in so many ways. The four of us could not be more different and that’s a big part of what makes us whole. I love them all and wouldn’t be where I am today without their support.
