We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from other photographers is that I’m the same person no matter where you see me. Whether it’s on Instagram, an event, or even a party I always show love and respect to everyone. With my clients, my goal is to make them feel happy and confident about themselves after a photoshoot, and accomplishing that makes me proud. I got to where I am today, by not giving up and trying new things. It was not easy, I had no idea how to use or do anything. But I was willing to learn. I had to move out of my hometown to figure out what and who I wanted to be as a creative person. Yes, I had to go through my challenges, but I had to go through it to grow, and chose not to avoid it. A lesson I’ve learned is that everything is figure out-able. I want the world to know about me and my brand is that it’s genuine and empowering to all my hard working artists out there chasing their dreams. I love helping fellow artists/creatives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Padre in Long Beach for some dinner and drinks on the rooftop. For a good happy hour I’d go to Tequila jacks along the water, they have a really nice outdoor patio. Cool place to hang out I’d say The Bungalow. Some places to visit for views, San Pedro at the Friendship bell, Manhattan beach, and Echo park for a nice walk and view of DTLA.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes, shoutout to all my friends and family for always showing love and support they really keep me going! I love them so much. Shoutout to my mentor, who showed me how to use my camera and how to start my photo business. I want to give a shoutout to a couple of books that have helped me out, the first one being “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero and “The Mindful Millionaire” by Leisa Peterson. Those books helped me build confidence and financial awareness to help grow my business.
