We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquez Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquez, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was solely focused on independence. I have a capacious storage of creativity and wanted to dispense it at my own volition whenever I wanted. The name of my game is quantity with a high volume of production so independence suited me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a creative writer who has fourbestselling books on Amazon in seven categories and Barnes & Noble. Where I distinguish myself is that I am able to write books in every genre and I intend to put out a book in a myriad of genres. In February of 2023, I released a book entitled “The Algorithm of A Culture” where I wrote, self-published, packaged, marketed and distributed myself outside of any and all book distributing companies like Amazon. I only produced 100 copies for $100 dollars each. They sold out within 30 days. I started my own publishing company, Teach One Publishing, LLC (www.mpricebooks.com) and offer services to artists and creatives of all genres. Services include writing/self-publishing consultation, artist bios, newsletters, website bios for all brands, podcast design/host development consultation and more. I also have a Youtube channel, “The People That I Know” (https://www.youtube.com/@squeezestudios) where I host and co-executive produce with Sam Bartlett (Squeeze Films). “The People That I Know” is a captivating video interview series that shines a spotlight on the diverse and talented individuals that make up the city of Tucson, AZ. and offers an intimate look into the lives of many different music acts, entrepreneurs, authors, painters, and other creative professionals who are making a significant impact in the local community.

I’ve had many of the trials and tribulations none of us are immune to in life. I believe that the love I receive from true loved ones and my gratitude for life fortifies an indomitable will to surmount those trials and tribulations with hard work and determination.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them anywhere eclectic where the palate of variety was satisfied. A great example of that to me is Venice beach. I’ve been going since I was a kid, especially with my father, which widened my exploratory lens. I’m very health conscious, but I will eat many things because I love diverse cuisine. As long as my friends are adaptable and open-minded, we’re definitely going to have a good time. I love to travel and in September, my girlfriend and I will be headed to Egypt!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to humbly shout out the Most High because everything comes through the creator and not from me. Right after that is my parents Delano and Jacque. I couldn’t ask for better people to have raised me. They continue to give me invaluable guidance. My sisters Adrian and Tanisha. My nieces Jernei and Jaiden. My nephew Savion. My cousin Wesley. My girlfriend Fiona too.
