Meet Staci Nichols | DJ Track Star Staci | So Cal Corporate Event DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Staci Nichols and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Staci, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
My peers have called me an industry disruptor. This only happens by taking risk after risk after risk. For example, I was the first female DJ keynote to speak at a DJ conference ever. I was also the first to speak about the importance of playing more inclusive music (to a standing ovation). I also created a one-of-a-kind DJ booth that projects a client’s logo onto the front of the DJ booth and shows the song wave forms and titles in real time (audience members can watch me mix, loop songs, drop the next track, etc). Because of this set up, corporate clients can get the DJing services at their conference or fundraiser sponsored. I show the sponsor’s logo on the front of the booth. It costs the client nothing to have a top-of-the-line DJ at their event. It also saves retail clients the cost of having to buy their own branded DJ booths.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to make my own remixes and mash-ups. It adds another element of excitement and energy to my sets. Clients never gets bored…even if they’re hearing that party banger for the 100th time. One thing is for sure–they’ve never heard it the way I play it 🙂

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Lincoln Shrine! Redlands has the only Abraham Lincoln museum west of the Mississippi River…and we are quite proud of it. The public library here is also a historic monument–it’s gorgeous. Soon the Museum of Redlands will be opening as well. I’d also show a guest around the University of Redlands since it’s my alma mater. Plenty of hundred-year-old Victorian houses to see throughout town as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The entire DJ community is ridiculously supportive. 99% of the people in this industry believe in paying it forward and will happily teach their secrets (myself included). The female DJ community in particular is very close-knit. Very grateful!
