We had the good fortune of connecting with Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cooper, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We wanted to watch Cooper grow and figured social media was the best place to store all of our favorite pictures of him and share with the world. As we watch Cooper grow, we discover so much of his silly personalities coming out and hope to bring laughter and joy on people’s feeds. With the attention he has been getting from just walking on the streets and posting his selfies, we figured that a doggie influencer could be fun! We have a blast creating content and capturing everything he does on camera/film, so to us, it is very manageable and see it as more of a hobby.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Coopers instagram profile was just a way to watch our puppy grow. We didn’t realize that there was a huge dog community on instagram and being able to connect with other dogs from all over the world was just amazing to witness. The more attention Cooper was receiving, the more we realized how fun it would be to share his story and adventures for everyone to see. Dachshunds especially are a tough breed to train and manage, so being able to share our journey with this training, diets and tricks could help other current or soon to be dachshund owners.

We hope to be able to put a smile on everyone’s faces when posting Cooper and show other dog owners that an active, fun, and healthy lifestyle is so important for their fur babies. We are here to expand on ideas and share tips with other fellow dog owners and hope that his influence could turn into something bigger.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many dog friendly places to visit in San Diego, which is why we thought this would be a perfect home for Cooper.

We currently live in downtown close to Little Italy and have brought him to many different spots. Coco Maya has probably been one of our favorite Sunday Funday spots in Little Italy. It is a nice open air rooftop with good vibes and people.

Another restaurant we love to take Cooper and his brother is 619 Spirits in North Park. They are a dog friendly spot that has an outdoor patio in the back and front of the restaurant. They even offer a veggie and beef bowl for the pups which was the best part of the restaurant. Its always nice finding places that offer a small dog menu.

During the weekends, we take Cooper to the Little Italy farmers market where he is able to stroll for about a mile and see all these fun vendors at the market. He gets so much attention there so it can be overwhelming, but they love him there! When we need a break, our favorite dog beach to take him at would be Del Mar Dog Beach. Its a bit further from where we live, but Del Mar has a huge dog beach spot for the dogs to run around at. Cooper makes so many friends there and is slowly becoming a water boy.

Another spot we love to take Cooper for some socializing exposure is Kate Sessions Park. Its a huge uphill park where many locals go to watch the sunset, have picnics, throw birthday celebrations, paint, you name it all! There are also many dogs at that park that run around leashed, so Cooper is able to make fury friends!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Two of my girlfriends and I have always joked about the idea of getting mini dachshunds together. One day, it just happened and we called a breeder from Washington when two of us had our eyes set on the cutest English creams in the litter. I was still holding back, but my friend Victorianna had somehow found a way to convince me to bring home litter mates. Fast forward to today – we are happily living a couple miles away from each other with our mini dachshund brothers. Our other friend Roslyn ended up purchasing a dapple dachshund from another breeder as well, so they have expanded to a mini trio.

I would also love to give a shoutout to my partner Colin for supporting this decision and being the best dog dad out there!
