We had the good fortune of connecting with Alfonso Anzaldo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alfonso, why did you pursue a creative career?

Well, when I had 7 years old, I saw “Goldeneye”, the first 007´s of Pierce Brosnan, It was a great impact on me and after the show I asked to my mother:

“What do I need to make Films?”, she answered was awesome: “Al, only creativity and you have it”, after that, my father apporached to me and told me: “And a lot of money” Hehehehe

So… I started since that age to develop my creativity and of course how finance, but that area I´ve been developing since 5 years ago until now.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I started working in highschool for the TV news of school, I realize how easy and cheap you can make film productions if ypu have creativity.

After that I worked as: TV Producer, Journalist, MKT Manager just to finance my Independent Productions, during that time I´ve won 4 Awards in the WorldFest Houston, one as “Best Director”, and I see that I can go further and get inside of the industry, so, in 2015 I started to travel in different International Film Festivals around the World learning this Business, now I´m starting with it, almost to close the budget of my first 3 Pro Films with high level actors and crew.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First I will give him a tour through the nigthlife in Tijuana, the day after that I will take him to Downtown San Diego, after a good walk in the Marina, I will invite him to dinner in Little Italy and the next day may be we will finish the tour in San Diego Zoo.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Nice question! I want to dedicate this success to many people, I want start with my parents, my sister and my brother, their supporting means a lot to me since I had 7 years they have been very important.

In second place, to my friends and co-workers, beacuse when I´ve failed, they have been there for me to make me grow up, to take revange and make me stand up again, thanks for your trust guys! (Jesus Pinto, Arturo Carmona, Arturo Guzmán, Paula López, Scott Stoltz, Juan Fabián Romero, Isaías Rivera, Osvaldo de León, Mercedez Carolina, and my master Beny)

And one of the most important through the last year, she is a very special girl for me and I´m sure without her supporting I haven´t been where now I´m, thanks for be my accomplice Monserrat Contreras during this time.
