We had the good fortune of connecting with @Irvingtraveling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi @Irvingtraveling, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Everyone has an amazing dream where we are doing something we love, something to fill ourselves with energy, something that requires passion, love and compromise.

We are part of an unexpected journey where being surprised and keep learning should be our best friend. Being the builder of your path and taking a risk is not something bad but I can understand when people are afraid to take the next step in their lives.
That feeling of failure is not a joke, but is worse when we are thinking a lot about what the other can say about us, It is taking away our dreams and even worse, our time to start.

I stopped living to make others happy and I focused on myself, What am I looking for in life? What do I want to do? What makes me happy? And the most important, what is part of myself?

Many questions to my own person, and the answer came when I took the risk to be different. I can not be the person who is always doing the same. I love exploring and being in different places, looking for the opportunity to surprise myself and not forget there is more to discover.

Taking a risk is part of being different, and is the best way to be far from the comfort zone who is always looking for you. We are living surrounded by people (family and friends), who are always waiting for something from you and sometimes we have received a lot of advice from them and none is part of ourselves. Not because they were waiting for our failure, it is the opposite, they wantto keep us safe from the critics and not good comments.
But I understand no one can understand me as much as I do, and probably they don’t know all I can do.

I watched many people on social media travel around the world and I felt jealous of them and all the amazing adventures. I thought, maybe they were born for it. But I didn’t realize all the hard work there is behind it. They started from nothing and never stopped dreaming.

I traveled for the first time on my own when I was 20 years old and it was the most enriching experience I have had, knowing another culture and different people who makes you feel welcome, since then I have been trying to do it as much as I can.

I could have stopped and followed what the people said, but probably I wouldn’t be happy, and every day I would have asked myself what would have happened if I followed my dream. I started to recording videos and share with people as a hobby, I didn’t realize how many can follow you for be yourself, how many people feel inspiration for your experience and voice.

All people are unique, they have thoughts and creativity inside themselves, and there is nothing like feeling fulfilled with what you do and the impression you make on your life. Taking risk was for me an amazing door to a different world where happiness had never felt so close.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I quit my job as an engineer with more questions than answers, I had not had much time with myself, but then, the pandemic arrived, something who changed the world, and why not, the people.

I started another career online just to keep me busy and I wrote a book because of the free time (yes, a lot of time). I tried to publish it by myself, thanks for it, I realized how important it is to have a place in social media.
I was looking for something to share to get followers, and why not, publish a book in the future.

There are many content creators in the world and finding your voice is complicated but not impossible. I started to make videos about films and tv shows, that was my first project on social media (TikTok), it was really fun, I’m not sure if it was because I really like to watch films or just because I kept myself busy making videos. I’m still recording videos for this account when I have time.

I started to have an obsession to create a new account about travel, but there was a problem, How can you travel if you don’t have a job? probably the biggest challenge. I have always thought that things happen for a reason, that we have the opportunity to do something different and it does not happen every day.
I received a notice from one of my previous summer jobs in USA, I didn’t think twice and I traveled even when people advised me not to, why? Because it was something really different from my career and for them was a waste of time.

I didn’t tell them about my plan (recording videos), probably they would laugh, but I couldn’t think in another thing, I Followed my dream, I started to make videos for social media about travel, and that decision took me to another, and another, always looking for being in a new place.

I learned that you won’t be the best for some people, and also, you can be someone interesting for others who will wait more fromyou. You have the possibility to create a community that loves almost the same things as you. I know I’m working every day for those who believe in me.

I don’t know if I will be recording videos for the future, I’m enjoying the moment and why not, I know I will do something to make myself happy. Right now I’m working as a soccer coach (exchange program) and at the same time I´m recording videos and taking pictures to share with the people, telling about my feelings and sensations when I´m in an exciting place.

I feel happy, grateful for the moment I’m living and for the people who are starting to know me, I can not believe it, Who could imagine that there are people who send me messages asking for information and advice, yes to me, a stranger who decided tobelieve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My perfect day on south California will started with a walking on the beach from Venice to Santa Monica were the culture and freedom is part of the energy from that place, and then I would go The Getty Center, the perfect museum to enjoy the art, gardens, and a lot of viewpoint of the city of L.A. I can not believe how that museum can be free. Since I’m leaving hereI have been visiting different places and I can tell you one of my favorites is the observatory Griffith, for that reason will be my last place to be, you can do a little hike to go there or drive if you want to. It is that kind of place where the history from the past and present are living together, showing us how small we are and how much we could explore.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For sure, I wouldn’t be the person who I’m now without the support of my mother. My brother and sister who are always believing in my decisions.

And I can not forget to name Camp Deerwood, an amazing place where you can find yourself around charming people who want to know you and always support. I realized how big is the world when I arrived with them.
