We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I decided to start my own business, there were two main driving factors that influenced my decision.

First I wanted to create a reliable and sustainable source of support for my wildlife nonprofit organization Petri’s Place.

I am a rehabber for native urban wildlife and recognized the need for additional funding very quickly and needed to create a stream of income. I started by establishing two businesses that provide support to my nonprofit, This was purely out of necessity but started my journey.

Second, as someone who personally experiences the challenges of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and understands the struggles faced by easily distracted women entrepreneurs, I wanted to make a positive impact by helping them navigate the world of business.

Running two businesses and a nonprofit was expected to be impossible with my ADHD. However, I found processes and skills to create success with my easily distracted mind.

I began to not only believe but see proof that having ADHD or distractions was not a barrier to running a successful business.

In fact, I started to see it as an opportunity to bring unique perspectives, creativity, and resilience to the table.

I specifically target social media and email marketing because I recognize the power of these platforms in building a strong online presence and reaching a wider audience.

By providing support in these areas, along with a focus on organizational skills and time management, I aim to empower women entrepreneurs who are easily distracted effectively manage their businesses and thrive in the digital world.

My thought process was to use my business to create a supportive community where women, like myself, can find relief from the challenges they face, while also achieving their entrepreneurial goals.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a business owner with ADHD. My diagnosis was later in life in my forties after being treated for Bipolar disorder for almost 16 years.

With that news I realized I was building coping mechanisms and systems for building a business with the ADHD I didn’t know I had. I was excited to use that new knowledge to form my coaching business.

Now I help fellow easily distracted female business owners that are struggling to find their brand voice and target audiences generate revenue.

ADHD and my surroundings have always been what defined my future because I let it. Every time I had an idea, the excitement and distractions quickly built up and the focus ran out on me.

My journey was not easy. I began to question why I thought I could even run a business.

Today there is an overwhelming amount of information overload. I found that only about 20% of what I was exposed to was even beneficial to me.

More importantly, 20% was the only amount consumable for me. I decided to take control and I focused on only the pieces that suited my needs and created my own system. It worked. This was where I began to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

With this knowledge I was able to put together an easily consumable program that resolved the overwhelm, guided my focus and mindset, clarifying my branding. This is how it worked for me. I needed to teach how I learn.

Instead of pushy “hustle culture” coaching, detailed courses and trainings, I created bite sized, self-paced “nuggets” of opportunity for the busy minded.

My mission is to help easily distracted women make their entrepreneurial dreams come true. I want women like me, consumed by distractions and overwhelm, to know that there is a path to success. This is my story and it can be theirs too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If this is about Southern California, I regret to say I know very little. I am from San Antonio, TX.

However, if my best friend was visiting San Antonio, Texas for a week, I would plan an itinerary that includes a mix of cultural experiences, delicious food, and fun local favorite attractions.

Here’s a sample itinerary for a memorable trip:

Explore the lively River Walk and enjoy Tex-Mex dinner.
Visit the Alamo and explore the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Catch a show at the Majestic Theatre.
Indulge in a Tex-Mex breakfast, explore Market Square, and savor authentic cuisine for lunch. Lots of fun shopping in this area. I worked here in high school.
Take a day trip to Natural Bridge Caverns and the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Enjoy one of the missions, San Juan Capistrano. There is an abundance of wildlife and history on the grounds.
Maybe visit the McNay Art Museum but definitely explore the Pearl District. Enjoy farm-to-table dining for dinner.
Take a scenic boat tour along the San Antonio River and enjoy a farewell dinner at a top-rated restaurant on the water.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am grateful to my family.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my boss, whose guidance and mentorship have been invaluable.

His belief in my skills and willingness to provide opportunities for growth have empowered me to unlock my full potential. His leadership has been an inspiration, and I am truly grateful for the trust he has placed in me.

I also want to express my gratitude to the dedicated individuals on the board of directors of Petri’s Place.

To everyone who has played a part in my entrepreneurial journey, whether big or small, I dedicate my success to you.
