We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenyatta Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenyatta, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business I wants to build generational wealth for my daughters and also show my daughters never give up on their dreams and always push forward in life because life is a test you’re going to have your ups and downs. You’re gonna have your mistakes in life, you’re gonna lose a lot of friends and you going to gain new ones? Also I wanted to do something so my last name mean something in life like all these other companies that represent someone else last name, I just want my last name to be my legacy not just push to the side because, I do care for my family, we work hard and push and strive to be successful in anything and everything that we do and losing my mother in October 2022 pushing me to follow my dreams, and to push myself to be a stronger Powerful young black male, and he gave me opportunity to think about what I want out our life my company RE-UP Clothing Brand and 5Star Music Group is build around family and the people that I love they help me become this strong minded person with ambitious

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The story behind my brand and my music started when I was younger my sister, had female, singing group that was managed by my older sister, and I have to sit back and watch them write music record music, then a couple of years pass by some of my friends started doing music and writing music from major artists, I find that writing music help me expressing my feelings and my passion and one day one of my friends was like why you don’t record music that’s one way to express your feelings and emotions and I was like it was not for me and they was like how would you know if you never gave it a try so, I went to the studio in 2013 and I started writing music. I recorded my first studio song in 2017 that was title Go Ham that was my first time in the studio recording by myself as a artist. I really didn’t like the song but my DJ, DJ Naked Juice believe in the song, so he played in the strip club in Miami call “The Mint” the song blow up fast we had the first Go Ham challenge where the females was twerking to the song and posting videos on social media to help promote and market the song but I wanted to do something more. I always wanted to have my own clothing line so I reached out to the homie dollars in design and got a logo made for a clothing brand, I started doing my clothing brand in 2019 but I stop for year because I was going through so much in my life and I did not want to destroy my clothing brand in 2021 I rebranded my clothing brand and that’s how RE-UP Clothing Brand was started by me being the owner of independent recording label and clothing brand is kind of hard but it have its ups and downs but the people around me keep me grounded and focus. Right now 2023 I’m focus on pushing my clothing brand and all my music. I’m set to drop my first debut studio album a Hustle & Motivation, the lesson I learned is never to give up on your dreams never to give up on yourself always push yourself for better and never settle for less because if you do you will be building someone else dream, you have to keep people around you that have your vision and dedication and want to you win in life and become a strong minded person that can be very professional, with your business and you always I have networking with people cause you never know, who they know that can help you out and help you better grown your business and company, you have to remember you brand is a representation of your last name.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
OK, I’m originally from Miami Florida but I currently live in Jonesboro Georgia so right now I just go to certain places like the movies, the water parks and take myself out to eat. If I was back in Miami it would be a different story we be at all the clubs party’s, different events places hang out at different restaurants in the studio, hang on the beach just having fun, I have a different taste for food so for me to show someone around and get them the best time I try to give them the fun experience so they can enjoy the time with me as a person. So far in Atlanta I only being to T.I. trap house museum, and a few restaurant in around the city that have some good food.
