Why did you pursue an artistic or creative career?

Artists and creatives face innumerable challenges given that their career path often doesn’t come with a playbook, a steady paycheck or any form of safety net. It’s definitely not easy and so we asked a few of the artists and creatives we admire to talk to us about why they chose to pursue an artistic or creative career.

I chose to pursue music as a career because I love taking risks and getting out of my comfort zone. Music has always been my safe place, but I always just played it for myself in my room. I worked in data entry and jobs like that for my early careers out of college and I was just not good or happy with it. It was nice making some more money but I was miserable. I hated going to work, it was draining, and there was no socialization. It was something I just couldn’t continue.
