Taking Risk is essential, but how much, when and why? Taking risks effectively is as much of an art as it is a science and we’ve asked some of the brightest folks in the community to tell us about how they think about risk taking.

When I decided to go into the lashing industry, it was a risk I was willing to take. I was a full time student, pursing a degree in sociology to work in education and instead of going a route that might of guaranteed me security I opted out and decided to take the leap of faith and pursue something completely different. It’s a testament to the fact that I didn’t wait for perfection. I learned and improved along the way, and that has played a huge role in both my personal and business growth. Read More>>

I embrace risk as an essential part of my creative process. For me, risk-taking in art isn’t about recklessness—it’s about pushing boundaries, trusting intuition, and allowing creativity to flow without fear of failure. Every quilt I design and every piece of art I create is a risk. Can I make what I see in my mind? Will the fabric, color, and texture come together the way I envision? The reality is that not everything turns out as planned, but that’s part of the journey. Read More>>
