Reflecting on the things that made a difference

We asked some of the city’s rising stars to reflect on what made a difference in their journey. We asked them to tell us about what they think the most important factor has been behind their success.

The most important factor behind my success is connection. When I make commissioned art, I take great joy and pride in really listening to my clients’ vision, and engaging with their ideas. I think that my clients and customers respond well to the energy and enthusiasm that I give back to them, and it leads to having a strong network of repeat customers and word-of-mouth reccomendations. Accomodating with kindness wherever I can is the work ethic I use to conduct myself and my business, and I think that the personal touch really makes a difference when my customers decide where to spend their money. This is a difficult question to answer because, in my personal journey, there are two huge factors that come into play. The first one is the people you surround yourself with. You have to have people who love you for you. People who cheer you on your highest days and help you back up on your lowest. People who aren’t in it for fame and fortune. Just for the love of the art you make, the natural fun you have, and the lifelong memories you create. My brand’s success is tied to me showing up authentically as me! The whole game changed when I woke up and realized that my personality and perspective are what would open doors for me!
