Meet Yanelle Ruelas | Content Creator & Upcoming Singer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yanelle Ruelas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yanelle, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
One of my many affirmations is “ you have your own timeline, so just do you. Ignore the others”. I feel like people are always concerned if they are achieving their dreams or goals on time or feel like they are too late because they see others achieving them so fast in their eyes. Honestly, I felt the same way for a while till I realized everyone has their own schedule. I used to feel stumped or pressured because I see other people doing things “quicker”. But the reality is that our timeline is completely different from how we view others’ timespan. Basically, I stopped comparing myself and started doing things in my own time. That’s why this affirmation helps me to understand it’s okay to slow down and do what you need to do or do what you want to do. It’s your time. Short and simple.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m eager to create and finally publicize my musical content, to showcase my vocals and the types of genres I like to cover. Soon to create my songs I want to display them to everyone. My plan and ideas are to make fusions of different genres into a mix, for example cumbia with pop or brown-eyed soul with mariachi. A lot of ideas, As well as creating social media content that’s full of fashion, heritage, beauty, and so much more. My creative career path start was tough, trying to learn how to deal with my mental health when I was dealing with a lot of toxic people, and learn how to self-love and self reflect. Honestly i want to represent myself as a creative artiste of content and music. My story is sometimes its hard to be strong but we need push and create the best you , you can be.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, My Itinerary schedule would be a tad bit all over the place. The first stop would be breakfast at Salud tacos for a good brekkie Burrito and a quick coffee stop at por vida, get an iced coffee horchata with whip cream. While being around Logan avenue, we’ll walk around having a small shopping spree. Meeting local business owners like sewloka and albondigal having some good conversations. afternoon, we will go to la fresheria close by, and get some fresh smoothies with some chicken or ham sandwiches. Take the lunch to go. Grab a comfy blanket to place over the grass at kate session park to have a picnic while viewing the cityscape. Later on take a quick break to relax. Once night falls hits, we dress up to impress as well as go to downtown and roam around gaslamp. Have some drinks, dance to the music and find some Italian cuisine to try out. So yeah! Something simple and vibrant. As well as hanging out with my home girls throughout the trip, having some laughs and more. Honestly whatever the wind takes us, having spontaneous activities in San Diego.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I give credit to my parents for always being there for me and unconditionally supporting my dreams. As well as to my home girls for accepting me and helping me at my highest and lowest times. The amazing entrepreneurs in Logan avenue for inspiring and push me to put myself out in the world. Thank you, all of you made me the individual I am or trying to be.
