We had the good fortune of connecting with Victor Meyerie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victor, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
We were a french punk-rock band standing at the same point for years. One day, we decided that we wouldn’t do anything if we didn’t even try.
We booked ourselves a Tour in California and Nevada because it was our dream.
Ever since, the band kept improving, getting professional and now we’ve toured the US, Morocco, Thailand and we’re working on some other tours.
We recorded 3 CD’s, shot 5 music videos including one in Los Angeles.
So the lesson is start working, and good things will come along!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We’re 3 french guys from Lyon playing in a punk-rock band. We’re big fan of the 90’s-2000’s californian punkrock scene so this US tour was probably the best achievement so far! We loved it and are so excited to tour again anywhere in the world (except St Etienne).
As a band, I guess that people appreciate our energy and our failed attempts at being funny on stage.
People might think that it just requires talent but it’s way more than that. It’s a group life, you gotta be patient and hardworking. Success is also a matter of luck, being at the right place, at the right time so you just keep going and improving!
We want the world to know we want to tour the world so do not hesitate to book us!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d bring him to the Universal studio, then at Sunset to Santa Monica and have a huge burger at the Misfit bar and a good old blonde beer!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to Antoine and Théo from my band Deep Merries! They are brothers and I know we’ll make it through no matter what as long as we’re together.
Also Fanny and Jules who follow us on every of our adventures. They’re part of the Deep Merries family and we love them so much!
