Meet Ven (Von) | Pro Master Makeup Artist & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ven (Von) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ven (Von), what is the most important factor behind your success?
Some of the most important factors behind my success was keeping in mind that as much influence that I’d be surrounded by, as many inspirations as there are out there in the world or society pressures to conform to a trend or way of living was to stay true to myself. Letting my work speak for itself. Staying in my lane! And letting the organic love/support attract itself for the most part. Other than that self discipline being a young entrepreneur requires that when you run yourself your business and your life! Creating balance yet having disciple and staying true has been the roots of a solid foundation for success.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve considered myself an artist at a young age after I picked up on drawing and painting from admiring my sisters doodles and anime characters to growing a love for colors and creativity- soon at the age of 5 I’d become interested in makeup and play in my mother’s red lipstick or my sisters shimmer shadows any chance I had. The women and beauty that surrounded me inspired my art. I found beauty in little things ugly things dark things, struggle, nature, love, pain. There is something in all aspects of life that you can pull from. I focused mostly on fine arts until high school where I hit a creative block if you will… still I had enough energy to maybe create a makeup look on myself & that led to friends of friends wanting their face beat for special events. I went from I don’t know WHAT I want to do with my life or my PASSION & I found it. It was combining art with beauty and making other people just feel good and acknowledged. This field I got myself into has opened up so many doors for me and allowed me to meet so many people from all walks of life all while just doing my thing. I learned not everyone may like you and you may not like everyone but there’s enough success for everyone to go around & just because there’s so many of us in the world there’s no one quite like YOU. We are all divine unique beings. Creativity is definitely a way for me to tap into that energy and reach others. Bopa Beauty is my Makeup Artistry Brand, Bopa meaning Blossom in Khmer / Pali has such a profound meaning to me as far as watching people’s beauty blossom their whole demeanor and essence change simply by enhancing what’s already there. I always say you do not NEED this (makeup) to be beautiful because it’s really what’s inside that holds weight. Once that concept is grasped and I’m just enhancing what’s there it’s a beautiful experience to just paint faces and share the love of art with people.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Favorite spots in WA are wherever the views & water are. I love Washington for the fact I could pull up to Seattle go to Alki beach or down to Tacoma and chill at Ruston way. I’m always out so y’all will have to just catch me in traffic & tag along because everyday is something new. I’m a huge foodie & love a good hidden gem. Here’s a few THANK ME LATER. Mama Sambusas – South Seattle
Fish house cafe – Tacoma
Taqueria la Heradurra – Federal away

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Alhamdulillah- all praise to the most High. Secondly I’d like to thank my parents & Granny for doing their best raising my siblings & I and building that hustle mentality in me at a young age. I’d also like to say thank you to my Mentor- Sable Desiree who I know if it ain’t nobody else will keep it a thousand with me and push me to points where it was either make or break & each time I took an opportunity or absorbed the free game it was a stepping stone from lessons to blessings that brought me closer to my end goal. . I’ll always and forever appreciate y’all, along with my supportive friends and family y’all know who you are! A special love to anyone who came and sat in my chair whether you’re a regular or a 1 & done- I’ll always appreciate the support and trust you put in my hands to make y’all feel amazing and ready to FACE anything.
