We had the good fortune of connecting with Tralain Roslyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tralain, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well, I’ve been musical for as far back as I can remember, so there has always been that musical side of me however, when I decided to make the conscience decision to make my own business out of my musical talent it was simply out of juggling life as a single momma of two and struggling to also make ends meet. After struggling and barley getting by I soon realized that I had the ability to make my own hours, write my own checks and book my own shows which would allow me to also be there for my little ones. I wanted to be there for all of the school events for the parties, the special moments… I didnt want to miss a thing but I also needed to make money, this was my thought process behind starting my own business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I would have to definitely start our day at one of my favorite spots The Switchboard Restaurant out by the coast for some breakfast.

I am an avid tea drinker so up next we would visit one of my favorite coffee spots Vigilante Coffee for some good vibes and tea and likely a coffee for my friend, then take our hot drinks and cruise over to the Oceanside harbor to dip our feet in the sand for awhile. There is nothing like the ocean air in the morning.

South O brewery is just right next door so we would absolutely have to swing by for one of their delicious brews.

Something that a lot of people do not know about me is that I love rare gem stones so next up would be old town to check out one of my favorite Gem shops, I love to just walk around old town sandiego its so vibrant and theres always something to do or see..
I am also a vegan, so we would likely close out the night with some vegan dinner from The Plot and try to catch the sunset.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my beautiful daughters Fionna and Charlette, I love you both more than words could ever begin to epress, you have inspired me to be better, run faster, fight harder and to be stronger than I ever knew that I could be. Becoming a momma was one of the single most powerful and motivational things to happen to me and I am forever thankful.

The Book the 4 agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz was a huge game changer for me. I realized after reading The 4 Agreements that everything was going to be ok..in fact that things would be better than okay, that life is a gift and we are all the stars of our own movie, that we are in charge of how the story goes.

Shout out to God for always being right there by me and guiding my way thru it all
