We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Campoli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balance is a big myth. I don’t believe it exists, and in fact, it’s another way for women to feel like they aren’t “doing enough”.

I believe in focus.

When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100% with her. When I’m working, I turn off all distractions and focus on the tasks at hand. When I’m at dinner with a friend or my husband, I keep off my phone.

I used to struggle with overworking, and I’ve realized that the LESS I do with more FOCUS, the better my results are.

It’s so easy to get distracted with social media, notifications and other technology. A great tool I love is a “pomodoro timer” where I’ll set the timer for 25 minutes of fully focused work. You’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish when you remain focused!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I used to be a chronic dieter, I counted every calorie and spent 18 years dieting and at war with my body. I had low self esteem, terrible relationships and this lack of confidence showed up in every area of my life.

It wasn’t until I decided I was DONE with dieting, endless tortuous workouts and struggling that my body and mind changed.

When I stopped hating my body and stopped dieting and I started treating myself with love and kindness, that was when I finally lost weight and started looking and feeling better than ever.

This is why I’m so passionate about the work that I do. I want every woman to feel FREEDOM with her body. To feel confident, fit and amazing.

My students and clients bring tears to my eyes with their stories of how they’ve transformed, inside and out. From no longer needing cancer medications, to finally stopping dieting after decades of failed diets, to having the confidence to rock a bikini in their 50’s…this is important work. Because it’s not just about pounds or inches, it’s about so much more.

My mission is for women to know that they can feel strong, fit and confident and every age and every stage of life.
I believe every woman deserves a body and life she loves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Miami: Mandolin Aegean restaurant is the BEST! Greek and Turkish and a stunning garden that transports you to another world.

The Surf Club at the Four Seasons is magical and some of the best food anywhere!

SanDiego:
I’m not sure I haven’t been in a few years!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m so grateful to have such amazing friends and boss babes in business. These women inspire me, show me what’s possible and always help me to keep going. Even when things feel tough, I know I’m never alone.

I cultivated amazing friendships by joining masterminds, networking and allowing friends to “set me up” on friend dates. We can’t do it alone!

The best advice I can give anyone in business is to nurture and cultivate great friendships and relationships by giving generously and helping out others where you can.
